  • Mesothelioma Information Help

Depending on the stage of the disease, the most common treatments are surgical removal of the affected tissues, chemotherapy, or radiation. There is some concern that research into mesothelioma will be minimal, because it is projected to be a short-lived disease in terms of new cases after the next 30 years. However, new research is consistently providing physicians with alternate forms of therapy, and there are many intense studies into control and cure of the disease, so those diagnosed with mesothelioma do have many options and a lot of hope.More
  • Yankees vs White Sox Weekend Preview

Welcome back, everyone! We took a small break for the All Star Break, but we have now returned. After a few days off from baseball, what’s better than coming back to a matchup between the defending World Series Champion Chicago White Sox and the New York Yankees?More
  • Friday Night Lights

The lights were on and the music was blaring from the old Yankee Stadium speakers in center-field, as the crowd filed in slowly on this middle-July evening. After tossing warm-ups in the bullpen prior to the game, Jose Contreras made the long walk from the bullpen to the visitor’s bench, to a mild chorus of boo’s as bitter Yankee fans showed that there was very little “love” lost from his underachieving days as a Bronx Bomber. Randy Johnson was next to come out from behind the walls of the Yankee Stadium outfield, and he was treated to gracious cheers from the fans, probably due to The Unit having quality outings (6 IP, 3ER or less) in four of his last five starts.More
  • Friday Night Lights: Part II

After a perfect inning from Farnsworth in the eighth, the Yankees would have Alex Rodriguez coming to the plate to lead off the inning. Guillen left Contreras on the mound for the Sox, which would later come back to haunt Ozzie. A-Rod led off the inning with a blazing liner to left field, starting things off with a single.More
  • Yanks Beat Sox: How Sweep It Is!

The New York Yankees finished up a sweep of the defending World Series Champions, Chicago White Sox, with a 6-4 victory on a Sunday afternoon in the Bronx. Jaret Wright provided 5.1 innings of decent pitching, allowing 3 ER and 8 H, while walking 2 and striking out 1. It certainly wasn’t a performance remotely similar to his outing prior to the All Star break against the Devil Rays, but the Sox are a much better team than Tampa, and Wright has always pitched well against the Devil Rays in his career as a Yankee.More
  • Wright on Track

Hey, if Jared Wright is going to only give us six innings or less every start, he better have more outings like last night’s against the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. Wright allowed only four hits, and struck out ten batters, while not yielding a single run to a potent D-Ray lineup. The Yankees only had three hits in the entire game, but they needed just one in this pitcher’s duel.More
  • The Young Guns

The Mets managed to split their doubleheader this afternoon against the Marlins, falling 3-2 in the first game, and then clobbering the Marlins 17-3 in the second game of the twin-bill. While it’s nice that the Mets managed to win the second game and split the series, it doesn’t really make that big of a difference given their huge lead in the NL East. What’s more important to take out of these two games is how well their young, rookie pitchers fared against the Marlins.More
  • David Can't Slay the Goliath

The lone New York representative in the 2006 Home Run Derby was fan-favorite David Wright. After an opening round onslaught of sixteen home runs, Wright was only able to hit six more homers throughout the course of the next two rounds, and eventually fell to the Phillies’ Ryan Howard 5-4 in the finals. Thankfully for the Mets, this will be the only time this season that the Phillies will win anything.More
