SEO for recruitment agencies
Now, things have changed. The internet has made jobs more accessible than ever to candidates who no longer have to shuffle through lots and lots of paper to find jobs, they receove job alerts to their e-mail and mobile phones from interent job sites. Packages on interent job sites for recruitment agencies may be only £1000 for a whole year, bringing costs right down and being more effective at generating more candidates.
For the forward thinking recruitment agencies, now are many turning to their own websites as a tool to generate candidates. To do this they need to get their website to list high on google's rankings. If you are not familiar with Search engine optimisation (SEO) then the costs for this to get your website ranked can not only be large but can also be a bit of a leaky bucket. If you run a recruitment agency, my seggestion is that you learn SEO yourself either to promote your own site, or to have the knowlledge to employ someone to do so.
I can't teach you SEO in one article, but here's a few pointers as to what you need to research.
Directory submissions. Just like phone books, these are simply interent versions of a phone where you can submitt your websites details to a releavnt section. In doing this you will create an inbound link to your website.
Press releases. You will find an abundance of press release sites on the internet. Write a brief press release regualrly about your company. Once again, each time you post it, you will generate an inbound link to your website.
Write articles on your subject area. Pick the topics you would like to list for and write articles on them. They could be help or training articles, then look to post them on article sites a gain inbound links back to your site.
Write news articles for your own website. If you don't have a content managed site where you can add content, it's a change worth considering. Google likes to see lots of new content being added to your site regularly, if you can't freely add content, from an SEO perspective you are at a disadvantage.
Ask your clients for a link from their website to yours. They can only say no, but if they don't, it's a high quality link from a relevant website.
Whilst the costs of paper advertising are removed with the current availability of internet packages, it is comparably more competitive, so it's worth considering developing your own website instead. Employing SEO agencies to do this can be highly costly. Learning to do it yourself will be an invaluable life skill as well as a superb business tool, even if it's simply to allow you to employ someone to do the work for you.
