In the corporate arena, “image” is one of the first and most important things to value. Of course, before gaining profit, the company’s image should first be well established in order to have a smooth relationship not only within the company but as well as its scope outside. Along with this establishment is a clear and vivid goal of who and what the company really is to its employees and clients. And most importantly, all communication procedures would be easily dealt with when the company has over won sustaining its good image to everyone.
However, many CEOs overlooked at this importance and have underestimated the value of Public Relations to their business. Instead, they consult their financial advisers for making important messages or for ironing out controversies for them. Will the problem be solved? Not really. When consulting these problems to financial advisers, they would have it solved financially. Image is not about making sales or gaining profits per se, nor is about protecting a business financially. Rather, image is a long process that surely will take time to build, but once it was established, everything a CEO would have wanted for his company will be perfectly put in place.
PR’s value in business should be stressed out especially in managing a business. Now if CEOs do not fully understand its value, then we could give them a reason to make PR as one of their precious gems in making out a fine business in their industry. Below are 8 reasons to trust PR:
1. Reputation is a CEO’s key to success.
As said before, a company’s image should be valued above all. And sustaining a good reputation is one of the most important tasks of a CEO. Reputation builds credibility, good will and in the long run, loyal customers who sustains good sales.
2. PR is best known for building good reputation.
Do not mislead that the only role of PR is to write press releases. What is best for hiring or having a PR pro is that they know what goes on in any kind of communication processes. They are both good at building and sustaining a company’s reputation. And that is where you have to love PR.
3. PR gives you the how tos on talking with stakeholders.
One more valuable thing that PR does is that they are able to determine the different attitude of your potential clients and they give you pointers on how to deal with their attitude. Talk about business, PR is your key to being loved by possible clients and business partners.
4. PR ultimately solves diversity in communications.
Are your financial advisors capable of communicating through diverse groups? Are they capable of drawing different messages to various people? Your only way to reaching out to different kinds of people (whether they are your employees or clients), is through PR. Just as PR can handle different attitude of your stakeholders, it could also do good in bringing the right message to a specific group of people inside and outside of your company.
5. PR is not only trusted by CEOs, but is also a trusted advisee for all the company’s head.
PR serves as a way to make all things smooth flowing within the company. It ensures that there is proper communication within the company as much as it monitors the company’s reputation outside.
6. PR has all the tools to help CEO build image for himself and his company.
What is most important in building a desired image is that you have to properly send the right messages to all your viewers. And what PR does is exactly that. It is the master of communications. IT has all the tools for you to have an effective communication towards your people.
7. Ultimately, PR does not have to lie.
This is what most people think of PR. But like any pro in communication processes, PR follows certain values. And one of its values is not to lie. Amidst the accusation, a good PR pro does not need to lie to gain good reputation. Again, it serves as trusted source and tell you exactly what is best to do both in good and bad times.
8. PR could also gain the trust of your senior management team.
Again, installing proper communication within your company is what keeps your business strong. PR could also gain the trust of your senior management team, which results into goodwill among the members.
The bottom line here is that PR’s value relies on its role in establishing your success in business. Its “persuasive messages” is the very key why you have to trust PR. PR’s goal in establishing good reputation is always moving a key audience to your way of thinking, so that the resulting behaviors will be to your liking. With this, everything you have wanted will likely be held in their right places. You would not want to miss these things out, would you? Now you know PR’s value, you have to start trusting PR and value its role in your business.
