As a professional CV and Resume writer I advise people to use qualified writers to be sure of a high-class product. However, I also know that many people would still rather do it themselves because of cost or other implications. Having been on the receiving end of so many poorly written CVs and Resumes and mainly because I really want you to be successful in your job search, I am going to show you where to get your free Resume template and CV samples. And yes this means taking the risk that you will take your business elsewhere.

Am I mad? I hope not, but if I don't show you everything that's available how will you a) get the information you need and b) decide for yourself which is best?

There are 2 web site addresses which I will disclose - one for US style resumes, and one for UK style CVs - where you can find not only basic free resume templates and basic CV templates but also job-specific resumes and CVs plus situation-specific Resumes and CV samples. There is also a selection of cover letters, interview tools and recommendations for references.

The free Resume template section includes basic Resumes as well as job-specific Resumes and situation-specific Resumes. Every form of resume that you might need is included in this section such as chronological and functional resumes, curriculum vitaes and themed resumes. The job-specific resumes include free resume templates from 'Accounts Payable' to 'Writer' resumes. Specific situations call for appropriate resumes and you will find a free resume template for an applicant with an advanced degree and academic accomplishments to an executive resume template.

The free CV templates include a range of basic CV layouts plus job-specific CVs and some more situation-specific CV templates. You will find CV examples in both chronological and functional layouts which you can choose according to your particular needs. The job-specific CVs range from aircraft mechanic to warehouse operations management via all levels and types of job. Specific-situation CVs include those from graduate and school leavers to returners to work and military to private sector and career change with volunteer experience.

Cover letters include Basic Cover Letters; job-specific cover letters; situation-specific cover letters. These cover letters range from 'customer service rep.' to a 'travel agent' cover letter explaining employment gap. Also for career change and 'paralegal' to 'stage management' positions. Also you will find a cover letter in response to an advert and following up a college career fair.

So if this is sheer madness for my business, but it means you get the best possible do-it-yourself result, then so be it. I'd much rather you get what you need than lose opportunities through a badly written CV or Resume.

You can find some of my own free CV samples to copy and use at Free Resume Template where you can also discover the two addresses I mentioned.
