Gulf of Mexico Earthquake Rocks; Wonder Why?

Fortunately the Gulf of Mexico has seen no major Hurricane this year in the 2006 Atlantic Tropical Hurricane Season, which is a good thing because those ocean surface temperatures are indeed pretty hot. But now instead of large Hurricanes we have a large Earthquake right off the coast of Tampa Bay, Florida. The biggest in over thirty years in fact; of course as this happened hundreds of thousands of residence were worried of a Giant Title Wave or Tsunami.

However as big as the Earthquake was it was only 6.0 and that is hardly enough to set off a Tsunami really. The Earthquake was felt as far away as Louisiana too. It was centered over 250 miles off the coast from Tampa Bay to the Southwest. The scientists are telling us that this is a very unusual event, but in reality Earthquakes in that region are not so common, but Earthquakes themselves happen everyday around the world and the Gulf of Mexico gets its fair share also.

Nevertheless, it has a few residents worried, but this is really nothing to be so concerned with at the present time and a 6.0 out in the Gulf of Mexico is not a big deal or something to get all uptight about. Still it is rather interesting say seismologists. So, please consider all this in 2006.
