Anniversary Surprise For Your Man

Well, you've added another year to a happy marriage.  And as sure as your man is probably thinking of a surprise for you, you may be wondering on the next opportunity to catch him off guard, and spring a surprise when he expects it the least. 

The fact is, anniversary surprises are a bit of a misnomer - you're both expecting to receive something of value for the occasion, that the actual gift-giving can be sort of an anticlimax.  This doesn't mean that it's not romantic; you just have to think of ingenuous ways to do over traditional surprises, or arrange one which totally deviates from routine.

Stick with tradition and create.  Most often, the simple things are the most memorable.  If you haven't written a lengthy love letter to your man for a long time, this is the ideal opportunity to compose one.  And don't send it via email to his office. 

Old-fashioned love letters have never lost its romantic appeal.  Take the time to sit down and think of the ways your man is special to you.  Is it his sense of chivalry which hasn't faded after all these years?  Or the way he lovingly looks at you when you're stuck in tight spot?  Decide for yourself and put it in writing.

Celebrate!  Nothing beats a good homemade dinner, made by yours truly.  Of course, fancy dinners have their own appeal, but the time you invest in coming up with a tasty treat for your hubby after a long day's work, and the look of satisfaction on his face as he sinks his teeth on your own entrée is a gift in itself. 

Plus, a homemade dinner by candlelight is especially soothing for both of you, since there's no hustle and bustle of waiters and customers to distract your attention, not to mention the savings you make by doing away with that hefty check at the end of the meal.

Cap the night off with something out of the ordinary.  You can dance to a ballad at the living room or give each other a soothing massage, the choice is up to you.  Be spontaneous, and be adventurous.

If you're setting yourselves up for intimacy at the end of the evening, try a different approach on things.  Surprise your man by asking him to watch adult movies with you before getting intimate. 

He might be taken aback at such an unabashed suggestion, but be rest assured that he'll be pleased with your sudden openness.  If you have reservations on how to pick up copies of adult movies, you can purchase them online and have them shipped to your doorstep without ever revealing your identity.

You can arrange a memorable anniversary day without being extravagant; the essence of the moment won't be compromised as well.  Ensure that the gesture is special and well-meant, and your husband will thank you for the pleasure of being with you on your anniversary day. 

Who knows, maybe next year you'll be sipping cocktails at a tropical beach?  It's all up to you to make it happen.
