Many couples nowadays cannot even spare the most essential of luxuries – quality time with each other. But this is the glue which makes relationships stick, and without it, the couple is basically two individuals in a Platonic relationship, at best.

It doesn't suffice that you just get along; you have to keep the fire burning as much as your first date or kiss, or you could at least try to recreate the emotions as closely as possible with each passing day.

For working couples, this may prove to be a dilemma, but be assured that if you're in such a situation, you can keep the love alive even with less time to spend with each other. All it takes is a little ingenuity.

Ever wish that you could spend the wee hours of the day just chatting with your partner, with nothing to get in the way of it? Well, now with kids around, you can afford for less time to frolic. But even children can be distracted to your benefit; give them something to occupy themselves with, such as a computer or board game, or spend your intimate moments while the kids are taking their afternoon nap.

You can sit back on the couch and talk about your week, or you can cuddle close to each other and watch a rented movie. The feeling of closeness, which the two of you share, is surely enough to soothe the week's stress away.

Evening arrangements should be more romantic. You can send the kids to a friend's house to play with the latter's children; then prepare a home-cooked meal for your husband, they way you used to do when you had plenty of time to lavish on him. Bring out the fine china, whip up your specialty, and pop the champagne.

Then dim the lights off and wait for your husband to take in the unexpected surprise. The evening's still young even if you've finished the meal at your own leisure, and you can give each other a soothing back rub to cap off the night. In this way, you get to replenish your energy for the next day, and your relationship gauge gets a boost as well.

One nifty game, which you can play with each other, is to come up with perk coupon booklets for the both of you. Coupons may include treats as practical as 'fix the roof' or 'cook my favorite dish', to offbeat requests such as 'watch adult videos with me' (adult videos, by the way, may even be used to spice up your intimate moments, and you may even take pleasure at such a request).

Assign points with each coupon; higher points for 'significant' requests, and fewer points for perks like 'do the dishes this time' or 'take out the garbage'. Keep the use of the coupons spontaneous so you both wouldn't know what to expect next. Not only will it keep you on your feet, you'll be able to wallow in the guilty pleasure of catching your partner unaware every time you whip out a coupon.
