Out-Of-The-Box Anniversary Surprise Ideas

If showing up on the doorstep with a dozen roses just won't cut it anymore, and a dinner date at a fancy restaurant becomes a ho-hum experience, maybe you need to put some quirky zest on your next anniversary surprise. 

If you're at a loss in deciding what to get for your hubby on your anniversary day, save the champagne for later, and do try these nifty ideas both wacky and romantic.

How about a medieval surprise?  Visit a local costume shop and rent a medieval armor; if you can ride on horseback, then all the better.  Straddle up to your doorstep at an unexpected hour of the day (such as early in the morning when you're supposed to be at work), surprise your wife in the middle of a lawn mulching, dismount, and pay your chivalrous respects. 

Do have an experience planned for her at this point; if you don't, all you're efforts will practically come to naught.  Take her to the park or give her a ride around the block, just make sure that everyone sees her astride a horse, with her shimmering armor at the girdle.

Take her out to breakfast while you have the house cleaned down to the last nooks and crannies.  Do your own version of an extreme home makeover (albeit in a much smaller scale).  Have the curtains changed, the laundry cleaned and the garbage taken out, the floor vacuumed (even underneath the rugs), and if your budget permits, have a professional create a topiary out of the lawn shrubs.  Housewives have a special spot for men who have the rebuilding spirit, especially if it involves a leaky roof or a dripping faucet; this one's a sure winner.

Rearrange a bachelorette reunion party.  Sure, you've been married for five years - that's what makes the surprise extra special.  Have all of her best friends come over and while the night away with a repeat bachelorette party - sans the stripper of course. 

Make sure you have all the staples in place - suggestive games and sex toys included.  Your wife may have received sex toys before her wedding night, and if you haven't seen a trace of them during all these years, this is the best opportunity to tell her that you're open to the idea of using implements to enhance your intimate moments.

The best is saved for last; get down on your knees and ask her to remarry you.  This is the perfect anniversary gift, the opportunity to renew your vows in front of the same congregation, a testimony of your faith with each other.  After the reception, plan a dinner date - in France. 

Top off the experience by spending your vacation savings on a European cruise or similar exploits, or kick off your feet while sipping a glass of margarita at some exotic beach.  You've been saving for a long vacation anyway, why not spend it now, while you still have the blissful momentum? 

You get to relive the experience of newlyweds on a honeymoon, except that with this one, there's an assurance that you'll both get through the seven-year itch together.
