Ordering online can be tricky, for those who have done it in the past, the experience taught them a good lesson.

The first absolute rule is to start as early as possible. So if for a reason or another the merchandise needs to be returned; may it be because it's damaged, doesn't fit or won't work... Shipping it back & getting another one may causes quite a delay. Another good reason to shop early is that shipping is much slower during the peak of the season since postal services are totally overloaded. Also, if you are planning on bidding on auctions you will get a lot less competition than right before the Holidays.

Make a shopping list before you even start shopping, merchants will lure you into buying their products. Make a list of the people you want to buy gifts to & the amount you are willing to pay for each one. The more you know what you want the better chance you get of ending up with it. When shopping online, you must shop around as much as possible. The exact same product can sometimes be found at a much lower price somewhere else! But be wise and check shipping charges! Sometimes the merchandise is a little cheaper but shipping and handling charges are double price.

Make sure the merchant will provide you with a gift box if you need one. Double check their return policy & insure your packages when you feel the value is worth it. Make sure you read all details & description of your product before clicking on that "buy it now" button.
