The Best Way to Commemorate September 11

What's the best way to commemorate September 11, 2001? I believe it would be to stop looking over our shoulders and carry on with business as usual at home, while stepping up the war on terrorism abroad.

You see, Al-Qaeda and other terrorist groups know they cannot destroy us. They are are not stupid. There are too many of us and too few of them. Besides, we have, by far, better technology and more military might than they. We're the world's only remaining military superpower, for crying out loud! We cannot be destroyed by any outside forces, no matter how many disastrous terrorist attacks we might endure. In fact, would could and should use our overwhelming force to make them pay dearly for any future attacks.

The real goal of terrorists is too disrupt our lifestyle - something they hate with a passion. They hate our freedom. They loathe the idea that our women are free to make decisions for themselves, dress as a they wish, pursue higher eduction, and have the same opportunities for success as any man. They detest the fact people who live within our borders are free to practice whatever religion their conscious dictates. They find it absolutely reviling that our citizens are free to read, hear, and view pretty much whatever they want.

Therefore, they want to put enough of the fear of terrorism in us so that we will voluntarily give up some of these freedoms or least agree to have them curbed somewhat. When we do that, they win. Let's not hand them that victory today.
