Divorce is a serious affair. Unambiguously, it brings stress, disappointment, pain and also troublesome questions of friends. It seems, you can run away from your town, move to tundra and change your name, just to avoid these questions. And how would you feel, if paparazzi would be hunting for you since early morning till late evening, wishing to capture signs of bitter tears, sleepless nights and soul tortures on your face?! This way it happens with celebrities. But those, who came through a noted divorce, worked out their own methods of struggle with “post-divorce mood”. Which ones? Let’s try to learn.
“It’s such a pity, that everything started in best, and ended in worst Hollywood traditions”...
- Jennifer Aniston reviewed a bitter result of her family life. 5 years of life passed near a sex-symbol and dream of army of fans, but last year this fairy-tale ended. Brad Pitt met a new love named Angelina, and 35 y.o. Jen had to learn living without him.
Paparazzi competed with each other, trying to publish most unsuccessful photos of Jennifer, to show the whole world, how she lost her good looks due to tortures. Beverly Hills mansion, which cost them 14 millions, and which she obtained after division of property, hardly made her glad. Quite the contrary: everything carried her back there, which turned to dust... And press riddled with photos of a happy couple Jolie-Pitt, which still make Jen sick...
What helped her standing the test and stay up?
“Friends”
This is a TV show, which made Jennifer really rich and famous. But title of the film is symbolical: it brought Jen not only awards and popularity, but also real friends: she got
1) a real friend, Courteney Cox. They became inseparable friends during shootings, they even bought mansions in the neighborhood. Courteney never left Jennifer alone, supported her morally. It was her house, where our heroine stayed during her greyest and most despairing days...
“Rumor Has It”
- this is a title of a comedy, in which Jen starred after her family boat was wrecked. To resist a temptation of sitting in the kitchen and turning on the waterworks, she
2) became thoroughly engrossed in work. And not in vain, as it turned out: a romantic comedy “The Break-Up” brought not only good handles and joy to fans, this movie turned out to be a therapeutic one: Jennifer got a chance
3) to “play through” negative emotions she experienced in comedy format. Probably, it is terribly difficult, to play a family breakdown in front of cameras, when you’ve just experienced it. And to manage doing this in a funny manner. But the actress coped with the task, and it helped her a lot. As well as
4) a new boyfriend, double as her partner in this movie, Vince Vaughn.
He supported her morale during shootings, cheered her up with his effervescent jokes and earned the celebrity’s goodwill. This summer sweethearts are going to marry. Jen already shows off Vince’s gift: a 200 000$ ring, which he bought to celebrate the engagement.
However, no matter how good Vince is, he hardly can take the place of his forerunner. We cannot but hope, that Jennifer does it not rashly and not to spite her ex-husband, but because she loves Vince...
“What does breakup mean for me? Possibility to wear high-heels again!”
- Nicole Kidman announced archly after her famous divorce from Tom Cruise. Of course, she was cunning. Nicole is a wonderful actress, but no one can play such a role... Almost 10 years of life with a dream of all girls of the nineties; two adopted teenagers; a consolation “prize” in the form of 83$ millions after division of property and possibility to wear high heels round the clock… Here’s her inheritance!
Of course, she tried to uphold her reputation and look light-hearted, although she was not too successful in it. For example, when the actress burst into tears a couple of minutes after she got “Oscar”, hearing her ex-husband’s voice in her mobile, all who presented in a huge hall felt awkwardly… Nevertheless, even evil-wishers admitted: Nicole behaved with great dignity. Now, at this distance of time, she already can talk about it calmly. Time is a healer! What else this red-haired Australian used to heal her heart wounds?
1) Nicole went dancing at that fateful night, when she had to stay alone at a hotel for the first time, “playing” a role of a deserted wife. To avoid staying alone with gloomy thoughts, a beauty put on high-heels and went to a dance floor.
Nicole cannot be called an open person and it’s hard to imagine her drinking wine with a friend and pouring out her heart. May be, this saved her? “A part of me was shut and became extremely detached”, - actress admitted.
2) A possibility to understand herself and stay alone helped her more, than communication with people. Moreover, Nicole almost has no friends. A celebrity’s sister Antonia plays a role of a best friend and adviser.
3) Communication with sister became a real air-hole for her. An actress’s child’s memories and mutual girlish experiences are connected with her sister: relationships between sisters and their feminist mother were rather complicated. “During dinner we were discussing feminism achievements in different spheres of life, - Nicole remembers. – I understood little in complicated questions of relations of sexes, but yet being a girl, I distributed feminist lampoons among people outside together with my sister”.
4) She was not too lucky in her new love affairs: it’s difficult for celebrities to find a good match, and for strong women it’s even more difficult. Nevertheless, Kidman did not despair and, like our first heroine, she’s going to marry a musician Keith Urban this summer.
Here’re professional secrets of celebrities, who experienced divorce. If we collect them together, then we will receive a code of quite sensible advices. You’re embarrassed, depressed and don’t know how to come through breakup? You will need:
1. A real friend
2. Work, which you can be absorbed in
3. A possibility and wish to “play through” negative emotions you experienced in the format of comedy
4. Office romance with a witty guy
5. A hobby, which presents you positive emotions and adrenalin
6. Minutes of reflections and loneliness
7. Support of close people and relatives
8. Romantic relationships.
