Spectacular Options for Sunset Beach Weddings

There are few things as stunning as sunset beach weddings. The bride and the groom standing hand in hand along with the minister, rabbi, or priest in silhouette against the growing color as the sun sets over the water. Torch light holds back the coming darkness as the guests watch from rows of white folding chairs or, if the sunset beach wedding is on the big island of Hawaii, perch on ancient volcanic rocks sticking out of the sand.

Perhaps the bride in this sunset beach wedding is wearing a simple, yet stunning knee length gown in the subtlest shade of lavender that seems to change color against the changing light. On her feet are barefoot sandals with matching bracelet and earrings whose beads occasionally catch those magical last rays from the sun and seem to magnify them in a shower of color around her. The tuxedoed groom was barefoot as well as he entered the ceremony but quietly slipped into a pair of wedding flip flops buried in the sand that leave a "Just Married" impression as he walks out of their beach wedding to the reception.

For the reception, sunset beach weddings often have a choice. One option is for a casual beach barbecue reception with guests sitting on logs or in sand chairs gathered around a bond fire. This is often a good choice for a younger crowd, but might make the older members of the wedding party less than comfortable. For a sunset beach wedding reception such as this one might want to consider wedding favors like the crab wine bottle holder, flip flop playing cards, or the beach in a bottle wedding favors.

The second reception option is to retire to a nearby hotel or restaurant banquet hall. Doing so does not diminish the sunset beach wedding theme; as a matter of fact many such locations are already decorated, either subtly or otherwise, to continue the beach theme. Simply, add beach sandcastles as centerpieces and sea shell shaped chocolates or sailboat tea light holders as favors and the newly married couple are ready to continue with the next phase of their sunset beach wedding celebration.
