Gone are those days when cosmetics were considered only for women. Today more than eighty percent of the men are very much concerned about their looks and the way they dress up. Men have begun to take lot of care for their skin and they still want to look handsome and macho, that’s why today we can find millions of men hitting gyms everyday and even sitting up their own gym in their homes. This trend has become like a revolution and it is picking up fast, really fast! Most of us would have read about the new ‘breed’ of men called “metrosexuals” – okay this doesn’t do anything with sexuality! This is a new word running inside in many men’s magazines.

So what is this ‘metrosexuals’? Metrosexuals are men who are really men, but very much concerned about their looks, they give lots of importance to skin care, fashion, hair care, etc. This new breed of metrosexual men has helped the cosmetic manufacturers and companies to develop their business. And these men are the main targets for today’s cosmetic companies. There are amazing numbers of skin and hair care products available in market. It includes hair gels, facial creams such as fairness creams, moisturizers, astringents, toners, hair removals, deodorants, shampoos, conditioners; all under the name ‘For Him’. And of course shaving creams and after shave lotions; actually this list might go endless!  

These men’s cosmetics have undergone various tests and studies, these products are very much suitable for men’s skin. For instance, men’s moisturizers help to maintain healthy and flawless skin, free from pimples and acnes. Skin care in very much important as men work more outside in sun and they are also involved in sports, so they need sunscreen lotions to protect their skin from harmful rays from the sun. Deodorants help in keeping away bad odor due to sweat. Many men often visit salons to have their hair cut and color or dye their hair. They even have pedicure and manicure done. Some say pedicure and manicure are just a part of personal hygiene. Hair gels, shampoos and conditioners are very much necessary as men tent to go bald, so they need to take good care of their hair too. Now there is no limit to the possibilities of what new cosmetic companies may come out in future! Now women have begun to envy men! Thanks to those cosmetic companies!
