Personal Checks
A great way to stand out is by getting personalized checks. Put a picture on your check, and you ensure that your check is unique; it makes a statement of its own. Writing out bills won’t be such a laborious task when your checkbook is so pleasant to look at. Even more satisfying will be the fact that you are looking at a picture you chose, and you can be sure that the person sitting at the next desk in the office doesn’t have the same one
When you personalize a check, you can select your own lettering style. Usually, a selection of at least four special styles is available. You can get a special monogram or cut to appear in the upper left corner of your check. If the design permits, you can have a couple of lines above the signature line to express a personal message of your own.
Most personalized checks allow five lines for personal information that typically includes your name, address, phone number, and driver's license number or social security number. Information about your bank must be printed on your checks, including your bank's address.
When you personalize your checks, there is a whole variety of styles to choose from, including single checks or checks in a standard wallet format like conventional bank checks with exclusive designs. Or, you can choose Duplicate Checks, which automatically prepare a copy with every check you write. A top stub check has a stub at the top of each check for keeping a record, or there are desk-set checks that are three-to-a-page and fit into a binder with stubs to the left to record your transactions.
By including intricate patterns and colors in a personalized check, you can make it difficult to change the document. Chemically sensitive paper can be used, on which
stains or spots may appear if someone attempts to alter handwriting on the check. Other ways to avoid fraud are by adding foil or embossing onto the check design.
