We would all like to have unlimited funds to spend. For most of us, that is only a dream. Most likely, you have to plan where to spend your money. Spending your money and then hoping you have enough left to pay the bills is not a good plan. So you must create a personal budget. Budget is a dreaded word. No one wants to use a budget, but it is necessary if you are going to have good credit; otherwise you will possibly not have enough to pay your loan obligations, credit cards, etc. If you end up with bad credit, you will not have all the opportunities available to people with good credit.

A budget needs to include your monthly bills as well as annual your bills. If you don’t consider the annual bills, like real estate taxes or insurance, you may not have enough money to pay them when the come due. You must also include your spending money as part of the budget. There are a lot of opportunities for keeping track of your spending. Personal budget software for your computer can help you, as well as online banking where you have a list of all your expenditures.

Your budget must also include provisions for your retirement funds, whether they are mutual funds or stocks or both. Banking at an institution near you gives you the opportunity to access a financial planning counselor and offers the counselor a chance to know you and your retirement needs. These services are free of charge to the customer. Or you can find your own financial planning consultant. The important thing to remember is to budget your expenses and plan for your future. It’s up to you.
