In recent times, ATMs are not only seen in banks or in public places, as they are now also seen in business premises such as shops. These machines offer convenience to both customers and business owners, and the use of these ATMs in shops are becoming very popular. Given the obvious benefits of having ATMs in places where people are most likely to make purchases, a demand has been created to have these ATMs placed in other locations as well. One of these is the demand to have ATMs placed in stadiums and concert venues during concerts and sports events to allow people who go to these temporary events to have access to cash they need to make purchases.

Recent innovations

In response to this demand, the builders of these machines have created ways by which they could modify the design of automated teller machines to make them “portable” since providing ATMs for events requires that they be moved around at different times and to different locations. One recent innovation is the “pod” design, which have been made to be appropriate for outdoor use. This design has also made it easier to bring these machines to different locations because it is “lightweight” and it has features such as wheels that make for easier movement.

Apart from the features that make the machines portable, these machines have also been “armed” with security features that would ensure the security of those who use them. Some of these security features include having sensors installed in the machines, which can detect attacks or robberies. Once activated, these sensors trigger the machine to spray indelible purple ink on the money, which will render it unusable by the mugger. Apart form this; the ink would most likely be splattered on the mugger, which makes for easier identification and apprehension.

In recent times, innovations to how ATMs are used and placed in various locations are becoming very popular. One of these is the development of “portable” automated teller machines that can be placed around stadiums and concert halls during concerts, sporting events and other temporary events. These machines do not only meet the demand for convenience in accessing cash but it also effectively gives security to those who use them.
