For a healthy living it is very important that we do possess healthy dental habits so that we can keep our teeth ever glowing and we can have our beautiful smiles long lasting. So dental care should be stated by their parents for the children’s first it is quite important to remember that once the dental care practices are followed by the kids then it is quite obvious that as they become grown ups then they would definitely follow the dental care practices. It is very important for us to understand that while it is very important to follow the good dental care practices it is equally important for us to break the bad dental care practices which are included in our daily regime.
As far as the bad dental practices which are concerned or followed by the children are going to the bed with a bottle, thumb or finger sucking and swallowing the tooth paste is one of the worst practices which have to be broken by the parents in order to make the dental practices of their children fairly good. Getting on to the bed with a bottle: The result of this action that is sending your dear ones with a bottle of any substance other than water will definitely cause severe tooth decay to your kids. The sugar content which is present in the liquid stays to the tooth for a long time and this in turn causes bacteria on the tooth thus causing the tooth to decay. The mixture of sugar along with the acid causes the formation of a type of acid that eats through the enable and causes cavities.
This situation of sending a child with a bottle in the nights is described as bottle mouth by the dentists when this practice is repeatedly done. Although this is not an easy habit which can be broken easily but one thing which can be done is that the quantity of the liquid can be reduced slowly on an every day basis and in the end the child can only be given water. Thumb sucking This is considered as a bad practice because this could eventually cause the formation of buck teeth that would definitely require an orthodontic treatment.
Majority of the children would stop this habit on their own when they are in the ages of 2-3 years but often this habit tends to be very difficult to be broken when it begins. Intake of tooth paste Brushing your child’s teeth on a daily basis is a major accomplishment for both the child ad the parent, it is quite important hat you take care of the fact that the child does not intake tooth paste, this is quite an easy task to break. It is possible when you ask your child to take pea sized tooth paste which is very much sufficient to get your child to brush his/her teeth. You will also have to teach your child how to brush the teeth and once he gets the hang of it and then you can easily see that the child does not swallow the tooth paste.
