The day seems to fly by before one can get a moment of peace. It can be hard to squeeze all of the things you need to do into just one day. Caring for your body and skin shouldn’t be a chore. It’s an important part of your routine that can’t afford to be skipped. Make no mistake; creating a skin care routine isn’t a long, drawn out procedure. All you need is five minutes a day for clear, glowing skin. First thing in the morning or right before bed seem to be the best time. It’s also most likely the only two quiet moments of your day.

Try not to over do it by using too many products on your skin. Rather than helping your skin this will only clog it and lead to things like acne breakouts and plugged up pores. It’s a common misconception that you need a wide variety of products in order to properly care for the skin. It can be quite the opposite though. Skin prefers to be as natural as possible. Slathering your face and body with a series of creams and scrubs will cause more damage than it will help to relieve. It’s very important to refuse to get sucked into multi-step facial programs that require you to buy several different items. This is a sure fire way to find out that you should have saved your money.

Keep activities like facials strictly to once a week. A deep, cleansing facial mask or scrub doesn’t need to be applied daily. Instead, try using it on weekends or days off to help purge toxins and other harmful chemicals from your skin. Too much frequent use can lead to extremely dry skin. For daily use, have on hand a fantastic cleanser and a lotion that you truly love. There really is no need to include additional products. Keeping it simple will be most beneficial for your skin regardless of what some products may try to tell you.

When you’re creating a skin care regimen take care not to forget to include shaving. If you use a razor you might find that it leaves your skin feeling dry and occasionally itchy. Giving your legs and armpits a quick rub down with a good moisturizer helps to replenish natural oils lost during the shaving process. Use a Vitamin E cream or one that has Aloe Vera as an ingredient for additional moisture.

Products that are made for dealing with acne or other related skin issues should be mild on the skin. Harsh additives may assist with the acne but it will leave damaged skin behind. If you suffer serious acne then speaking to your dermatologist is best. However, for those who experience it mildly, acne cleansers for sensitive skin are best. Others may cause extreme levels of dryness that can become an irritant itself. Carry travel size versions of your favourite cleanser and lotion if they are available. Convenient and cheap, it makes a quick fix easy no matter where you are. It won’t be long before you experience the benefits of creating a skin care routine.
