An expert panel of research dermatologists carried out a photographic assessment after five years of clinical studies and discovered that most men will see hair growth results within three to twelve months after starting a course of treatments using Propecia.
Propecia for hair loss is the first - and the only - pill that has been approved by the FDA as a treatment for male pattern hair loss on the top of the head and the middle of the front of the head. This treatment works only with males, but it has not yet been provento work on receding hairlines at the temples.
The sooner you begin your treatment with propecia for hair loss, the more hair growth you are likely to experience. However, there is a downside to this pill. If you quit taking the medication, you will see the results gradually slip away over the course of the next year. So, this is a medication that you will have to take for the rest of your life (or for as long as you want to keep your hair).
How About Side Effects?
The studies that were conducted with Propecia were carried out on men aged 18 to 41. These subjects had mild to moderate hair loss at the top and the middle front of the head. Women and children should not use this drug, as it has only been approved for men. Some men can experience sexual side effects, like a loss of desire, difficulty achieving erection or a decrease in the amount of semen. However, these side effects only occurred in under two percent of the men, and they did go away after the medication was stopped.
Pregnant women should not handle any crushed or broken tablets as the active ingredient could cause abnormalities in a male baby’s sex organs. A pregnant woman who comes into contact with the active ingredient in Propecia should consult a physician immediately. With normal handling of unbroken product you won’t touch the active ingredient as the tablets are coated.
Although you will see results in hair growth, you may not grow back all of the hair that you have previously lost. This medication can only be bought with a prescription from a physician. You will see further growth over a three to twelve month span, but the results this has achieved will disappear if you stop taking Propecia for hair loss.
So, if you are a male and are able to continue your treatment throughout the whole time that you would like to see your hair growth appear, then Propecia for hair loss is the pill of choice to help the return of your young looks and good appeal.
