Comparing Viagra, Cialis and Levitra

If you are in need of a medication to help you fix an erectile dysfunction problem how are you supposed to know which one works best? It is likely that you will just take whatever the prescribing physician happens to hand you but what is the difference between the three primary leaders in erectile dysfunction?

Viagra, Cialis, and Levitra are the three key players in the battle against erectile dysfunction but still the question of which is best for you still remains. Viagra is manufactured by Pfizer and it is a little blue pill that a man takes about an hour before he may engage in sex. It lasts for up to five hours and it has an awesome reputation that is well respected and trusted throughout the world. Because of Viagra’s popularity it can also be purchased at deeper discounts than others. Yes, there are some side effects but the most common are a bluish hue to your vision, headache, and facial flushing.

Cialis is manufactured by Lily Icos and is taken anywhere from a half an hour to twelve hours before you anticipate a sexual encounter. Cialis can be effective for up to 36 hours. Now while Cialis does seem to stay in the body longer and offers more spontaneity but with that comes more side effects such as headache, stomach upset, and back pain.

Levitra is manufactured by Bayer and is to be taken about a half an hour before lovemaking and can last for up to six hours. Levitra has the least number of side effects with only headaches and/or flushing of the face. With Levitra there are no food or alcohol restrictions which are a nice bonus for many. A generic version is available for all three of the erectile dysfunction medications. Viagra has been around the longest, being released in early 1998. It wasn’t until about five years later, after Viagra had been considered a miracle drug for many that Cialis and Levitra were both released in 2003. Again, these are the only three drugs that have been approved by the FDA for erectile dysfunction. All three also work in a similar fashion, they increase the flow of blood to the penis so that a man can get and maintain an erection long enough for sexual satisfaction. If you happen to try one of these medications and are not pleased with the results, odds are that you will turn up the same results with the other two.
