When you receive your Viagra and look over the instruction pamphlet that is enclosed, you will immediately notice that you are urged not to drink alcohol while you are taking Viagra. There are reasons for this and after all of the research that has been conducted it is in your own best interest not to mix alcohol and Viagra.

If you drink alcohol while you are taking Viagra it could multiply some of the side effects that might not even be present if you did not drink. It states in the warnings and interactions section of your instruction pamphlet that one of the drugs that you are not supposed to take while on Viagra is blood thinners. Alcohol does thin the blood so it makes sense not to mix the two.

Some men might think that it is a good idea to engage in a few drinks believing that they will achieve longevity and overall better sexual performance but actually may end up with a racing heartbeat and a pretty bad headache. You must be very careful if you mix Viagra with alcohol because drinking can impair the ability to get an erection; even temporarily this is defeating the whole purpose of taking the Viagra in the first place.

If you are taking Viagra for which it was originally intended which is to assist with erectile dysfunction, meaning that you can not get an erection at all, get an erection that is suitable for penetration, or the erection will not last long enough to have satisfying sex then it is likely that you would want the medication that you are taking for that purpose to work as effectively as possible. Drinking alcohol will lessen the effectiveness rate of Viagra.

Some of the side effects of Viagra are headache, dizziness, flushing, indigestion, diarrhea, and there are also others but review these first. If these are some of the unpleasant side effects of taking Viagra consider this, these are also some of the side effects of drinking alcohol so common sense will then tell you that at the very least you would be doubling your odds of some unpleasant side effects.

It is always a good idea to read the precautions and drug interaction sheet before you take any medication and to follow what is required by the professionals. Many times some of the adverse effects are not known yet and so it just best to follow the advise of your prescribing physician if you have any further questions.
