Viagra Info: Can I Take It With Food?

Viagra’s claim is that taking it with food does not make a difference as long as you do not eat a big greasy meal and then take it. Food is said to have no positive or negative effect on the performance of Viagra.

However, numerous people who have taken Viagra said that the effects of the drug were slowed when they ate before taking it compared to taking it on an empty stomach. Therefore, it is possible that having a full stomach can decrease your body's ability to absorb the drug. When this happens, Viagra may not work as promptly or as effectively.

Some medications claim that consuming food or having an empty or full stomach does not matter. Some require that the medication is taken with food while still others claim the stomach must be empty. Viagra does not claim to have drug and food interactions nor does it state that food will prohibit the drug from working the way that it should but many people over the years that have taken it claim that they notice a significant difference in the way that the Viagra allows them to perform.

Many medicines can be affected by what you eat and when you eat it. When taking some medicines at the same time while you eat may interfere with the way your digestive system absorbs the medicine. The food may hinder or decrease the way that the body absorbs the drug.  Read the prescription label on the container. If there is something on there that is not clear then call either your doctor or the pharmacist and have them clarify it for you. Read all directions, warnings and interaction precautions that are listed on the packages. Take your Viagra with a full glass of water and never mix your medicine into a hot drink. Never take medicine with alcoholic drinks.

Perhaps if you discover that Viagra works better for you on an empty stomach then since the label will read that food has no effects on it then give it a try by taking it on an empty stomach and see if it seems to work more effectively. As long as you do not suffer from stomach upset or any other side effects then it is likely that here will be no problems. Everyone is different so it only seems logical that the way that particular medications work for them will also be different.
