If you are looking to care for your baby with natural skin care then there are number of tips that you can use to help even the most sensitive of skin’s.

This is very important to do because you do need to be careful when caring for the skin of a baby. In the first weeks after birth, the skin is very fragile and also very thin and delicate which means that it absorbs any creams or lotions that applied to it very quickly.

The skin of a baby is quite different to that of an adult as it has a much higher water content, and the protection that exists from the natural elements such as the sun just does not exist. So it is essential that appropriate levels of care are taken to protect baby skin especially during the summer months.

Another area that needs to be monitored are sudden changes in the temperature as a lot of babies are not able to deal high levels of humidity or exposure to chemicals that do contain harmful irritants.

Many of the baby care products that are available do contain a lot of harmful chemicals and so it would be best to use a range of products that are natural and do not rely upon the use of chemicals or anything that is synthetic. As with most things you need to shop around for baby skin care and as well as comparing prices you need to also compare ingredients.

Some products might just contain some ingredients that are organic but the product may not be certified organic, whereas some products will be certified organic skin care which means that all ingredients are organic and these have been used at a very high percentage. The difference between these type of products can still make a difference in caring for baby skin.

With new born baby skin there is no need to actually do much in terms of caring for it other than keeping the skin clean and that is best done using simply water. The only time you need to apply oils to baby skin if the skin is feeling dry and if you using oils for the sake of it then this can result in possible reactions developing. Talc should also be provided, simply because these are made of very tiny particles that can be easily ingested and inhaled causing potential problems with breathing. If the use of talc is needed then you should apply these to your hands first and then apply to the skin of the baby, but as mentioned this something that needs to be avoided.

In order to keep baby skin healthy you are going to need to keep it clean and a common mistake is to bathe a new born baby every day. There is no need for this at all, every 3 days or so is more than sufficient. The best way to bathe a new born baby is to simply use water and to actually to clean the skin with a soft ball of cotton wool. Under no circumstances should you use any products that are designed for adults as these will be far to harsh and will certainly cause an irritation to the skin.
