When Starting an Online Business Give Yourself Permission to Learn and to Train

Have you ever noticed that as adults we have a tendency to think that once we start something new, whatever it might be, that we should be able to hit the ground running and do everything perfect as if we had been doing it for a long time.  

To give you a simple example of this put this article aside for just a moment and stop and think of when you first started at your present job. When you started did you know everything you know now about or job or did you have to be trained over time and shown exactly how to do the job you are doing today. 

We as adults, and I am as guilty as you are in this, seem to think that since we are adults we should be able to jump right in and begin to perform at the top level without giving ourselves not only permission to learn, but time to learn.

If you think back to when we were born we didn’t come straight out of the womb jump to our feet and start to run, no of course we didn’t. We first had to learn to roll over, then learn to get up on our knees and finally to learn to stand. Once we had accomplished this, our next venture was to take that scary first step and once we did we then had to learn another valuable lesson and that was to pick ourselves up and to start again and of course we did. Finally, after many tries and many falls we not only learned to take those first steps but we began to walk and from there to run. 

What does the above have to do with learning; everything? We feel that when we start something new we should be able to accomplish everything right off the bat.  We are adults not kids, we’ve been to school we know what we’re doing or we think we do. We don’t think we need to start at the beginning we can jump right in and accomplish whatever we need to do to get the job done.

This goes for starting a home business too.   Whether you are a top executive of a company to someone in the mailroom or somewhere in between when we sign onto a home based business we feel that with what we have learned so far in life we are ready to start earning money today.   We don’t give ourselves the time to learn and to grow into our new home business, but quite often what we do is to follow the herd and do it either the harder way or the impossible way.

To be honest with you even after reading this wonderful material I still wasn’t sure how to proceed because I wasn’t really sure how to apply this information online to make money as well as like many of you I am somewhat technically challenged when it comes to working with computers and some of the lingo that we need to know when putting information or content on the Internet. In fact I was told by someone that I was going to have problems doing this because of not being technical in nature.
