Whatever the occasion, engraved gifts add a special touch, and are lasting commemoratives that preserve special occasions. Most of us try to give special gifts, but most don't become a keepsakes, or family heirlooms to be handed down from generation to generation. A bottle of perfume is a good gift. It can say, “I love you enough to notice you are nearly out, and I even remember what scent you like.” The problem with gift giving is that once the gift is used up, out of style, or worn out, the thought that went into the gift giving is lost, as the empty bottle is thrown away, or the once nice shirt makes its way to the yard sale.

There are plenty of gifts that can be engraved, not only to commemorate the occasion, but to last forever, and be handed down through the generations. Of course, gifts of jewelry can be engraved. Even wedding bands can be engraved with the names, initials, sentiments, and/or wedding dates inside the band, but consider other options.

Engraved gifts for baby showers include sterling silver, or silver plated baby book covers, or photo frames, bought already engraved, or taken back to be engraved with the baby’s name, date of birth, weight, etc. once the baby is born. Engraved gifts are just as nice for commemorative wedding gifts. A nice frame in silver, or silver plate, can easily hold a photo of the lucky couple, engraved with their wedding date, or even a framed snapshot capturing a special, candid moment, can bear the date the couple met, or be engraved to commemorate their first date.

Engraved key rings, pens, necklaces, Christmas tree ornaments, even engraved desk sets, can commemorate milestones in someone’s life. Graduations, first jobs, job promotions, baby’s first Christmas, and so many more important occasions can be captured, preserved in time, with a wide range of engraved gifts.
