Simpler parties require a simpler party checklist. A child's birthday party needs the use of a simple party checklist to plan the various tasks. Forgetting to place an order for the birthday cake is a disaster! The list is shorter but just as important. Holiday parties may be simple but they occur during a complex time of year. A party checklist can help minimize the frazzling affect of the season.

A party checklist is needed for the tasks of any sized get together. A very complex party can be especially difficult to organize though. The party checklist will include: assemble addresses, address invitations, mail invitations, order party goods, order cake or deli items, plan entertainment, and decorate.

Complicated plans need more than one party checklist. Individual party checklists can be used for separate tasks and contracted individuals. Party checklists for the florist, caterer, dress maker, tux rentals, limo, band, rehearsal dinner, and invitations etc. would be separate for a wedding.

Entries for initial meeting, show brochures to party planner; 50% pre-payments for contractors; and supervise decoration of church and reception hall would be typical. Delegating many of these to someone else who has time, really is necessary in larger occasion planning. A series of party checklists is going to be used.

A party checklist is a completely necessary organizational tool for the many things to do in preparation for any party. This is a big job. Place them on the list in order of required preparation time then prioritize the individual topics.
