How to Leverage Free Trials to Create a Money Making Online Income on a Shoestring

A lot of basic services that you will need to get started on the web such as web hosting, web templates for your web site, sales materials, autoresponders (automated email services), credit card services (so you can take credit cards), and even products to sell can be achieved for very little up front, or even the first 30 days free. They are designed that way so you can try them out. The companies are willing to give you their service for free for the first 30 days because they know that if you are making money after the 30 days, then you will continue to pay for their service after the trial period.

Now the key to working these trial periods is not to sign up for everything the first day. If you do, you will have a whole bunch of products free for 30 days, but some of them you won’t need until half way through this program, or maybe even later. There are a few products that I really feel you should spend the money on to get started, because it will really save you some time. However, there is a free method for just about everything I teach so that if you are heavy on time but light on resources, you can still make this work. But trust me, once you have some income, you must switch over to a paid form that does most of the work for you.

So before you get started, create a list of all the things you will need to get started online. For example, this list might include: domain name, web site, web hosting, autoresponder, traffic, email scripts, articles, product, and a credit card processor. You can get just about everything on that list for free, except for the domain name (like $10) and the credit card processor (use paypal, they don’t charge you until you make a sale).

When you go to set up your business, even if it is on a shoestring, do it right. Set it up at the beginning like you want it to look when it is running strongly, long-run. The only difference is you will be using free resources to get started, and then once you are making money, you can switch over to paid products.

Do it completely and correctly. If you think you are going to get rich cutting corners, you are plain wrong. Do you know anyone rich who cuts corners? Of course not. Now you may know a person or two that has had a lucky streak and made some money before without too much work. But contrary to all the hype online, the internet is not like that. It requires genuine work. But the nice thing about the internet is that once you do the genuine work and set things up, they will generally run and make you money without a lot of intervention.

Now does that mean you can ‘set it and forget it’? Nope. It means that once you have it set up, you don’t have to continue re-setting it up. But you will still have to tweak things here and there. Sometimes a particular product or service sells really well for 6 months or a year, but because it is such a hot seller, lots of people start selling it. Then what happens? If 20 times more people are selling it, then you aren’t going to sell as many of it as if you had created it and have the only promotion. Then you will have to market to different people or find a new product to sell. That is just the solid truth.
