Revenge of the fallen. This is the subtitle of the latest Transformers sequel. But like all good versus evil kind of movie, the good prevails in the end.

Connect this with internet marketing. Many have fallen and have risen again to take revenge. But unlike the movie, they have been successful in their quest. And like the movie, good strategies will always prevail over the bad ones done in past marketing.

Let us look at some of the bad moves you have to get rid of in internet marketing.

1. Not listening to what customers have to say.

Being the owner of your business does not make you perfect. What you do to your business is not always the right thing. This is why you have to take the time to listen to what your customers have to say. They are the best candidate to tell you is your business is effective or ineffective.

Listen to feedbacks. Do not expect them to be good all the time. You will always have critics checking out every loophole in your business. Take all these in perspective. Better yet, learn from them and try to improve what your business is about. It is true that you cannot please everyone. But you can please more customers is you are giving them what they want, when they want it.

2. Not watching the movement of customers.

What are your customers doing? Where do the people go when they want to search for something? What are they using when searching? These are some of the movements people online are doing. If you are aware of what people are doing online, you can place your business right where people will see it easily.

You can use of software that tracks what people are doing online. Most of these software show statistics and reports on relevant searches, misses and even websites that are visited more often than others. Allot some of your time for data analysis and understanding the movements people do when they get online. Make sure you are just a click away.

3. Not responding to customer interaction.

Customers tend to lose their interest fast if their queries, questions or concerns are not answered. This is the reason why there are contact forms or FAQ pages. More often that not, people use these forms to clarify something up. And they need answers. Fast.

Responding to your customers swiftly is one way to prove that you exist and that you are interested in doing business with them. Most business do not succeed because they do not take interest on follow up or answering their customers. Do not assume that people are just waiting patiently for you. There is no stopping them from going to your competitors if you are not making yourself available for them.

Mistakes in your past marketing should be taken in as lessons learned. The mistakes are already pointed out for you. Decide if you would rather remain where you have fallen or take revenge, roll out and be successful this time around.
