So you have a great website that generates revenue. Here are some ways to increase your existing earnings.
Monitor.
You should be using a good analytics package. I use Google Analytics (which is free). Based on your analytics you should be able to effectively drive more traffic and increase conversions, revenue, and leads. You should look for areas of abandonment and help clear up bottlenecks.
Another important use for analytics is testing. Implement a design or functionality change and test its new performance. Constantly improve your website based on your analytics reporting. This will result in a more profitable website.
Up sell.
* Offer similar products, or accessories in your shopping cart area.
* Email your clients similar products.
* Offer discounts.
* When you ship out your product include a coupon.
* Sell gift certificates.
* If you have an affiliate program offer it to your existing customers.
Convert more.
Concentrate more on the sale. I have seen success with larger “Add to cart buttons” and more prominent calls to action.
Research your product and price it correctly. The beauty of shopping online is users are a few clicks away from another website selling your same product. Price it right.
Follow the first rule of sales: Build trust:
* Have a prominent “about us” page and add your picture to the page.
* Have a prominent privacy policy page.
* Add secure “seal”
* Highlight your companies phone number.
