Whether you are running a restaurant, selling used cars, or promoting a new line of women’s clothing at your retail store, at some point you are probably going to want to use flyer printing as part of your marketing campaign. Some large companies have the benefit of a full time design staff with their own printing facilities on site. Most companies, though, do not have the budget to keep a fully staffed marketing department running year round.
If you fall into the latter category, the following tips should help provide some starting points to help you implement an effective flyer marketing plan.
Watch Your Words - When it comes to making your pitch and laying out your selling points, spend a time focusing on the words you use. You want to use enticing words and phrases without relying on overused catchphrases. That is right, no matter how much you‘ve always loved the word extravaganza, it shouldn‘t find its way into your flyer. Also try to keep in mind the old ‘less is more’ adage because it really applies when dealing with advertising flyers.
Since you only have a limited amount of space on your flyer and much of that is going to be taken by your image, you will want to watch your word count anyway. Get your main marketing message across in as few words as possible. Most people have rather short attention spans and presenting them with a flyer that is little more than a big block of text ensures they will ignore it.
Manage Your Look - It may seem shallow, but people will always take more notice of a flyer if it looks professional. By professional, I do not mean rigid and formal, but rather stylish, neat and easy on the eyes. There are a few ways you can ensure this. For one, try to only use one or two fonts throughout your flyer. This makes it easier to read at a glance and helps maintain a consistent look.
Also, when it comes to choosing your font, only use unusual fonts for headlines and if you do opt for an unusual font, try to make sure it is easily readable from a few feet away. Lastly, leave a little empty space on your flyer instead of trying to cover every square inch. Do not run your text all the way up to the edge of the paper, or too close to the edges of boxed text or images.
These tips should serve you well when you are developing your flyer design, but the best tip I can offer you is to avail yourself of a professional flyer printing company. Not only are the rates low, but they will have staff on hand to help you with any questions that might come up and help ensure you have the best looking flyers possible.
