The World Of Myspace
When you here about myspace what do you think of?
Most likely a place to talk to your friends, keep in touch with distant friends, and even a place to meet new people. This is how most people look at myspace.
Myspace now has over 15 million unique users and over 110 million accounts sign-ups. For most people, myspace is exactly what is explained above; a place to socialize with old, current and new friends. So you may be asking yourself, how can anyone look at mypace differently than that? That's what it is right? Just a social network to meet new friends and keep in touch with your current friends?
Wrong.
I'm sure that if you have been a myspace user for longer than a couple days, you have got a message from a stranger that you do not know. Maybe it was an attractive girl telling you to come visit her webcam website to get to know her better. Maybe it was a guy reclined on a pool recliner, relaxing with a bunch of attractive women letting you know how rich he is, telling you that you can also be rich like him if you visit a certain website. Maybe it was someone telling you that it is possible to increase your duration during sex by 10 minutes with one simple exercise.
Do you get the point yet?
The point is that there are plenty of people out there that look at myspace as a gold mine. With over 15 million users and the hundreds of thousands of groups and forums on myspace, it is an internet marketers dream. Myspace is one of the easiest social networks to target a certain group of people to advertise to.
So what do I mean?
Say you are really into basketball, so you join a myspace group called basketball lovers. It is easily possible for an internet marketer to go to that basketball lovers group and advertise a product to all the people in that group that tells you a secret to increase your vertical leap by 4 inches. Don't you think a lot of people who are into basketball want to know how to jump 4 inches higher?
And that is why a large amount of internet marketers are flocking to myspace. It is one of the easiest places to target a specific group of people, and a lot of them at that.
So for all you myspace users who are using myspace to talk to friends and meet new people, keep this in mind. And for all you internet marketers who have not explored myspace, you may want to give it a shot.
Either way, myspace is not just a place to meet new people and keep in touch with friends. It is also a playground for internet marketers in any category.
