Lebanon Is Not Sufficient To Burn

The fury of the Israelis to "Kill" terrorism is best imagined in their current drive to "flush out" Hezbollah and terrorism from Lebanon since July 12th. The verse of scripture from the Bible- the Book of Isaiah, Chapter 40:16 said that "and Lebanon is not sufficient to burn..." That is where we borrowed our title from today.
The casualty statistics (human and infrastructure) are getting scary. Even the President of Lebanon Fouad Siniora, admitted this much when he told Larry King of CNN, that Lebanon has been torn to shreds by Israeli mortar and air strikes.
Two wrongs can never make a right. The gang of hate called Hezbollah, was wrong to have sponsored terrorist attack and capturing two Israeli soldiers as hostage in return for convicted Lebanese militants serving sentences in Israeli prisons. Even though the Hezbollah has representations in the Lebanese Parliament, it is a minority in the Lebanese Government. That simple democratic arithmetic speaks much, for true voice of the Lebanese people (in this crisis time), who are now the major victims of the Hezbollah terrorist tactics. In every war, the harmless people, the poor, the women and children are usually the greatest victims, as is the case now in Beirut, Tyre and other major cities of Lebanon.
Business and industry are now comatose as a result of this "blitzkrieg", electricity and power supply is almost nil. Why must Sinora and his government suffer or be punished for the sins of a minority gang of terrorist group?
The way forward now, is to call a cease-fire and let diplomacy take over to resolve what has not been achieved by violence. This is also a big lesson for societies that tolerate terrorism in their midst by hate groups. The larger society pays an agonising and unfair price for Lebanese governmental negligence and co-habitation with terror.
The Lebanon visit and proposal by Ms. Condoleeza Rice is heart-warming. What "Mother Lebanon" has failed to do in bringing up a socially responsible son in Hezbollah, the NATO would teach by rebuilding a strong and firm army of Lebanon. An army that can tame any "wild son" into a peaceful, rational and socially responsible citizen of Lebanon and the world.
This is precisely the same point where Yasser Arafat of blessed memory, and his PLO Fatah failed to do in Palestine. Their failure paved the way for a sweeping victory for the HAMAS militants. A default victory for Terror! God forbid that in Lebanon.
Bin-Laden tactics has never paid off in the history of modern society. Ask the Taliban!

The latest television campaign ad in the Virginia Senate race features two of the primary election approaches engineered by Democratic strategists for this November's mid-term contest: attacking the President's judgment and competence and appealing to the patriotism and dedication to service of current and former military members. These two campaign tactics, along with a third, newer strategy that just emerged in recent weeks, form the core of Howard Dean's plan for winning back the House and Senate after twelve years of Republican control. The first part of the campaign strategy centers on attacking the Republican candidate, Senator George Allen, by framing him as "guilty through association" for his support of the President and his policies. - American Government's Chief Cornerstone and Indissoluble Bond - By: Paul Davis
