As gas prices continue to soar and more and more people deciding to go green in numerous aspects of their life, the decision to purchase a car that is more environmentally friendly is being made by more car owners.  For the Ford lover, this decision is becoming increasingly easier as Ford continues to offer vehicles that are fuel efficient, have lower carbon emissions, and still retain the look and feel of the Ford cars and trucks that they've always loved.  Here are a few of those cars to think about when the decision to go green with your car is upon you.

Escape Hybrid

Offering upwards of 34 Miles per Gallon, the Escape Hybrid is being marketed as the most fuel efficient SUV on Earth.  Whether that's true or not remains to be seen, but the Escape Hybrid is a great option for the family that needs the space of an SUV, but is looking to avoid some of the gas cost.  As well as being more fuel efficient, the Escape Hybrid meets strict Super Ultra Low Emission Vehicle (SULEV II) and Advanced Technology Partial Zero Emission Vehicle (AT-PZEV) standards.  Translation – the Escape Hybrid has lower emissions and presents less of an impact on the environment.

On top of all of the environmental reasons to buy an Escape Hybrid, the improved safety features for the Escape Hybrid means you don't have to sacrifice any feelings of security in the interest of being environmentally conscious.  With sensors that make more efficient use of your driver and passenger airbags, and an astounding six standard airbags, you can rest easy knowing you're protecting both the environment and your family when buying an Escape Hybrid.

Ford Focus

With an astounding 35 miles per gallon, the Ford Focus is the perfect car whether you're shopping in New York or at a Newton Ford Dealership; this is a car you'll want to look at twice.  Lots of fun to drive, but environmentally responsible, the Ford Focus is stocked with all of the newest gadgets to make driving it a true joy.  The Sync system is a great way to access your music and phone without ever taking your hands off the wheel, arguably the best safety feature any car can offer.

The Ford Focus balances increased driving power over previous models with increased fuel efficiency and decreased emissions to create a vehicle that is great for every family, teenager, or young couple looking for a car that meets all of their needs and will help preserve the environment for years to come.

Ford Flex

Available in the Summer of 2008, the Ford Flex is joining the crossover line of vehicles from Ford which currently features the Edge and the Taurus X.  While Ford hasn't released the miles per gallon yet for the Flex, it is being featured along with their other green vehicles on their website, so it's a fair assumption that the Flex will have reasonable fuel efficiency for its size.

Ford has said the Flex will feature a capless refueling system that will help reduce emissions from vapors while fueling.  This, along with numerous safety features, the Sync system, and enough space for a family of five and everything they need to travel, is sure to make the Ford Flex a very popular car when it arrives later this year.

Ford Reflex

Only a concept car as of now, this Ford Reflex is already being shown interest among those interested in more fuel efficient cars.  Featuring reverse butterfly doors and a sleek design that can seat anywhere between 2 and 4 passengers, the Ford Reflex is very likely going to be a huge hit when it hits, every New York, LA, Miami, and Newton Ford Dealership in the country.

Currently being rumored to offer a diesel-electric hybrid engine and new-generation lithium-ion batteries that will enable the Reflex to achieve up to 65 miles per gallon, the anticipation for this vehicle is already growing.  Although Ford has not announced any plans to produce this car, keep a look out as more and more manufacturers are releasing similar vehicles.
