College Football's Class of 2006: Brady Quinn- Quarterback- Notre Dame Fighting Irish
Today, we are featuring The Fighting Irish of Notre Dame’s Heisman hopeful, Brady Quinn. Brady is a native of Dublin Ohio where he attended Dublin Coffman High School. Brady was born on October 24, 1984 and has since developed into quite the athlete, as he leads the Notre Dame Fighting Irish Football team into the 2006 season with a national title on the top of his to do list.
During Brady’s junior season at Notre Dame, he blossomed into one of the nation’s premier quarterbacks under the guidance of offensive guru, Charlie Weis, and a little mentoring from Notre Dame football great Joe Montana. His numbers speak for themselves as he placed his name at the top of the Notre Dame Football record books by breaking several Notre Dame records almost on a weekly basis. That is quite an accomplishment considering some of the other names in the Notre Dame Football record books. The book includes names such as Joe Montana, Joe Theisman, Tony Rice, and Heisman Trophy winner John Huarte. Need I say more?
Take a look at some of these numbers that Brady Quinn put up last season. They seem almost unreal for a kid who as a sophomore was considered a so-so division I college quarterback. Brady Quinn became the all time passing leader in several categories: attempts (1,090), completions (611), yards (8,050), yards per game (230) and touchdown passes (58). His 2005 totals are an all time Notre Dame football best in the following categories: attempts (405), completions (263), yards (3,633), yards per game (330.3), and touchdown passes (32). This listing barely scratches the surface of what Brady Quinn accomplished in 2005.
Brady Quinn is also known for being extremely tough mentally and physically. This may be attributed to him being “thrown to the wolves”, or should I say to the "wolverines" early on as a true freshman for Notre Dame. Backed up on the 1 yard line against Michigan, in the Big House, for his first college snap sticks out in my mind at the moment! His leadership ability is uncanny and his willingness to step up and take on the world it seems at times is unmatched. This was very evident in Notre Dame’s epic battle against USC last season in Notre Dame Stadium as he led the Fighting Irish down the field with only minutes to go to put the Irish on top, even if only for a short period of time.
In closing, pay close attention this season to this Notre Dame Fighting Irish quarterback as you could be witnessing a legend in the making. He should be fun to watch as he leads Charlie Weis’s high potent offense every Saturday afternoon. Enjoy!

Football is all about timing. Not just the timing that is required between the offensive line and the running back, or between the safeties and linebackers on a blitz play, but also the timing of the coach to choose the right plays at the right time. The difference between success and failure rides upon play selection more than any other factor.
