Introduction To Airsoft Guns

Today, airsoft guns, pistols and rifles are mainly used for organized war games and, once experienced, will turn a novice into an enthusiast. The idea of airsoft guns were invented in Japan in the 80’s as, although it was illegal to own a firearm, there was still a demand for them, so gun enthusiasts and hobbyists improvised by manufacturing spring powered guns that were exact replicas of the real thing. Short after the sport rapidly took off, spread to North America and is now popular all over the world.

In the Airsoft gun world there are three types of Airsoft guns, a spring type, a gas powered type and an electric type of Airsoft Gun. A short overview; An Airsoft spring operated gun works on mechanical power; each time you want to shoot you have to cock the gun by pulling back the bolt just as you would an actual shotgun or bolt action rifle. Their design is fairly simple and so they are easy to carry around and recommended for first time players. An Airsoft gas powered gun uses compressed carbon dioxide to fire the BB and, although perfect for specific target practice, it is not really suitable for games. An Airsoft Electric gun is the most commonly available and used type, popular due to their power and high rate of fire. These are all the rage with either beginners or skilled players. Within each of these guns there are also different kinds, each with its own unique style and advantages. Even though airsoft guns are replicas, they are designed to look very realistic and can fire small plastic bullets of 6mm and 8mm up to a range of 25 to 45m at speeds of about 75 - 100 meters per second.

Airsoft Gun games are getting more and more popular like paintball games. If you are a new to this game don’t worry about the costs. There’s certainly no need to spend a lot of money on an airsoft gun because there enough low priced quality guns in the market. An Airsoft game is a fast paced game played between 2 teams that involve strategy, skill and tactics. It is an adrenaline rush and at the same time you’ll learn how to use a gun in a safe and secure situation. There are plenty of Airsoft clubs that organize “war” games and ‘skirmishing’ where all the excitement you are looking for can be found. As long as games are properly organized they can provide all the kicks you want. Once you know what it’s like you’ll never look back.

People from all walks of life, estate agents, bankers, teachers or housewives can handle a gun and be transformed into James Bond, a member of the FBI, a detective, a member of CSI, a criminal on the run or whoever takes their fancy at the time. Being part of an airsoft team allows you to play out a fantasy role, escape from the routine of day to day life and lose yourselves for a few hours.

When you are thinking about using an airsoft gun and you worry about its safety then realize this. Airsoft gun games can be a harmless activity as long as you pay close attention to the guidelines regarding to safety and by wearing the right safety equipment. Guidelines like: Playing in designated areas only. When sticking to the rules no-one should be hurt as a result of the guns them selves. If you are worried about getting hit then there are many of fantastic accessories that can be acquired. They don’t only protect you but they make you look even cooler. Accessories like protective face masks, body armor and tactical vests to keep you safe you can find in the sport shops. Purchase something like a pop-up target to practice your skills on, keep your gun to hand in a cool looking holster and size up your target with a scope.
