In recent years, there are many traditional games that have evolved and changed the way the game has been played. However, not all of them are able to provide as much fun for as a game of checkers. If you feels that a fun evening of playing checkers is a great way to spend time with your friends or family members, it goes without saying that a great deal of the fun would be reduced if the checkers pieces repeatedly got lost.

Losing one or two checkers pieces is no big issue if the set comes with some extra pieces that allow you to continue the game. This will become a problem if you often misplaced your pieces or have the habit of throwing your belongings around the house. Finding a tiny checkers piece may prove to be a daunting task, especially if all your belongings are in a mess. This may mean that it will eventually erode your interest in playing the game if it takes more than an hour to find the missing checkers piece.

If you are really desperate for a game of checkers, it is likely that you will give up searching for the missing piece and simply find a substitute for it. One of the common items will be the coin that or one of the backgammon chips if you happen to own a playing set. The more outrageous substitutes are bottle caps that are used to cover your water bottle or plastics bottles. Most of these items are usually household objects, which are easily available in your home. Though this reflects good use of your creativity, it really makes the game a lot less appealing.

If you wish to avoid making a joke out of yourself, you can alternatively make a trip to the nearest departmental store to buy a set of the checkers piece. However, it is very likely that the replacement set will not be able to match your existing checkers board. Perhaps, the last resort will be to get a complete new set of checkers if you happen to have some extra dollars in your wallet. Personally, I feel that this is not very necessary if you consistently practice the habit of safekeeping your checkers set after playing. Making sure that you have the correct number of checkers pieces after the game, is something that you have to practice if you wish to prevent losing any checkers piece. Keep in mind this handy advice and you will not have to worry about searching for another missing piece again!
