In Track The First 25 Seconds Are Free; Go For It

Most super star runners in track know that the first 25 seconds are basically for free, so it makes sense even in a distance race to blast out of the blocks an extremely fast clip for the first 25-seconds and get that pole position. No sense in holding back and settling into a pace in the first 200 yards or so, you may as well go for it and take some of those precious seconds off your final time.
You may think I am nuts when I say this, but I ran track for a number of years an indeed was a super star in both High School and College, even a bit before that. In fact in one 4 and a half year period I posted no defeats in my two choice races; 800 meter and 1-mile run. I can tell you this I took those first 25-30 seconds and ran with them. The reason is simple.
Those first seconds literally do not count, because it takes that long for your body to expenditurize the built up oxygen and your body does not even know it is tired or working yet. Now believe me I attempted to almost hyperventilate myself prior to taking off and just before I got dizzy I stopped breathing and waited for the gun to send shock waves thru my tense muscles and catapult me into the race, which I sure as hell intended to win. Today I am a retired track star and thought I would give you this running tip. Now I am just an average writer; (article #9525).
