For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
-John 3:16

This past Friday, I watched the move The Lake House on DVD. It was a romantic love story with a totally unrealistic plot. The impossibility of the storyline, however, didn't stop me from getting a little teary-eyed. Without going into the details of the movie, the whole premise was that true love overcomes every obstacle.

At the end of the movie, the Holy Spirit reminded me that every Christian has his or her own love story. That love story began over 2000 years ago when Jesus made the ultimate sacrifice for every believer who chooses Him as Savior. And even better than any movie on DVD, God's incredible love can overcome every obstacle, every time.

God's love is great.
But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us.
Ephesians 2:4a

God's love is everlasting.
The Lord has appeared of old to me, saying: "Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love."
Jeremiah 31:3a

God's love is sacrificial.
But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Romans 5:8

God's love is unbreakable.
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, "For Your sake we are killed all day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter." Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 8:35-39

My Challenge to You:
Find someone who needs to hear about God's incredible love and introduce them to Jesus.

One of the things that people like to express on t-shirts is their Christian beliefs. Christian t-shirts are a great way to display how you feel about your faith. The message on the shirt can be something as simple as "I believe" or different statements about Jesus or God. A Christian t-shirt can also have a scripture from the Bible that means something special to the person wearing it.

Like many other Christians in this tumultuous world, I am surrounded by apathy. It's been said, "It's easy to only focus on the bad. There is enough of it that it won't run out. But you don't have to go around looking for it."
  • The Calling of God - By: Mark Baker
Before the world was created God knew each one of us, and had preordained us to good works. Good works of course are the things He wants us to accomplish while we are here on the Earth. He has called us and equipped each of us to fulfill the things He has predestined for us.
  • Encouraging Words - By: Joyce Averils
Speak to others in a way that encourages and builds them up. Most people are more receptive to truth once they know that you care about them and love them. If we're going to be encouragers and if we want to speak life into the lives of others, then prayer before speaking is a must.

Patience is a requirement to seeing our faith fulfilled. It is the enabler to our faith, the ability to hold on to our faith when all seems lost. It allows our faith to endure. In other words, we will not give up our faith in the face of whatever comes our way, no matter how long it takes.

It's important to learn from your past but it's just as important not to live your life in the past. • Aging Gracefully - By: Joyce Averils
No matter what the world says, growing older is a blessing and as women of God, we can do it gracefully. As I approach 50, I don't want to get caught up in how many gray hairs I have, how many wrinkles are on my face or how much cellulite is on my thighs. I want to keep my focus on things that matter in light of eternity.

God hears every petition you bring to Him. That does not mean, however, that God is going to give you an answer when you want it and how you want it every time. Sometimes, He's silent and the only thing you can do is prayerfully wait on Him.
