The Truth About Adam and Eve
While studying the book of Genesis, I received an epiphany when I read Genesis chapter 3. Please read Genesis chapter 3 and tell me what the problems are with Eve. The problems are regarding the things she did leading up to her eating the fruit of the forbidden tree and disobeying the Word of God. Remember, Eve knew what God said through what Adam told her, however, she decided she knew better after talking with the serpent. According to the Bible book of James chapter 1 verse 14- 15: “But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. “Remember, Eve could not be deceived by the serpent according to James 1:14-15 and in fact, Eve was tempted by her own lust. Read it and let me know what your thoughts are.
WHAT
You see, Adam told Eve not to eat the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, she purposely began to figure out in her mind, why? “Why not eat the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil?” This is where Genesis chapter 3 verse 1 kicks in: the spirit of evil that was already upon the earth began to speak to her and make subtle suggestions to Eve. Now the serpent knew that he could not get Adam to listen to his suggestions, but Eve, she was another story. Have you watched the old Eddie Murphy movie remake "Dr. Doolittle"? Imagine a serpent talking to Eve as stated in Genesis Chapter 3 verses 1-5 and Eve talking back to the serpent.
The serpent says: “Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?” Now that was a lie, because that was not what God told Adam and not what Adam told Eve.
Instead of Eve just ending the conversation and running back to Adam to tell him that the serpent lied to her, she wanted to talk about what she was told by Adam with the serpent.
Eve said: "We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die."
The serpent knew that Eve thought about the tree of knowledge of good and evil so he gave Eve what she wanted. The serpent told Eve that she would be like gods knowing good and evil.
The serpent said to Eve: “Ye shall not surely die, for God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.”
Now what turns Eve on is the idea that she will not die and she will be as gods. This suggestion carries two messages: a) There is more than one God and b) Eve will be like them. This idea allows Eve to revel in her own ideas about the Tree of knowledge of good and evil and this is revealed in Genesis chapter 3:6.
"And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.”
HOW
Here Eve’s mind and soul is overtaken by her own selfishness; she has rationalized why she should eat the fruit of the tree that God said don't eat or touch. Check this out: a) Eve saw the tree of knowledge of good and evil was good for food. b) Eve saw that the tree was pleasant to the eyes. c) Eve saw a tree to be desired to make one wise! This is it! That was what Eve was really after; Eve wanted to be wise! This is what Eve did not have or know about prior to touching and eating that fruit. Eve was not wise!
CONCLUSION
Below is my own personal commentary based on my life and dealing with women and men, including myself, who think they are wiser than God and know better than God how things should to be.
In Eve's selfish desire to violate God’s law that was given to her by Adam, she figured Adam did not know what he was talking about and after all, God did not tell her personally. Her view on Adam was probably that she had seen him in compromising positions and Adam did not seem too wise to her. Eve probably saw how silly Adam acted when he was with her and she probably assumed that he was not the brightest star in the sky. To bring it home, we know how men act after receiving affection from the woman he loves!!!
The man acts like he has no sense at all. Eve did not know that Adam acted this way because the blood rushed from his brain to other parts of his body to help the body recover from exhaustion! Adam was not stupid. He was in love with Eve. Eve perceived Adam the wrong way and figured she would help Adam out by becoming wiser than Adam.
Then the cold part about Genesis chapter 3 and verse 6 is this: Eve ate the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil and immediately her innocence died. She was still alive, but she was not innocent anymore. At that point she did not want to be without Adam and so she decided (with her selfish self) to give the fruit to Adam and Adam ate the fruit willingly. Now I can only suppose that Adam was not thinking at the time and Eve probably had Adam in a compromising position! You know what I mean!!! ;-) After Adam ate the fruit later he heard the voice of God calling for him in the Garden of Eden and now Adam had to answer to why his innocence died. Adam hid from God at first, but Adam told on himself and answered God in Genesis chapter 3 verse 10 stating:
“And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself. God’s response to Adam is: “Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat?" God knew that Adam ate of the tree because Adam told God that he was naked. God responded by saying "Who told thee that thou wast naked?"
In the end it was Adam who sinned and Eve who caused Adam to sin. However, both were punished. Adam sinned because he knowingly disobeyed God’s commandment to him and Eve sinned because she knowingly disobeyed Adam’s commandment to her. Eve left Adam taking the rap from God and she blamed the serpent. This is where the term "The devil made me do it" came from. However, it is written, “But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed” (James 1: 13 – 16). So Eve lied to God as to why she ate the fruit and so did Adam.
I don’t know the exact reason why Adam and Eve did what they did in the Garden of Eden. However, it is written Adam ate the fruit because Eve gave it to him and he compromised mankind by loosing his innocence and becoming knowledgeable of good and evil. Adam loved and lusted after Eve enough to be compromised by her. Eve ate the fruit because she wanted to be like gods and be wise, she was overcome by her lust after the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil.

After the tragedies of the 11th of September 2001 and the invasion of Iraq many people are arguing that the Qu'ran and Islam itself teaches that a state of endless war exists between Muslims and 'Infidels' (who are usually defined by these folk as being Christians and Jews.)In support of their arguments they pull quotes from the Qu'ran which seem to support their position, but do they really? In this article I want to show the deceitful way in which these folk argue, either out of ignorace on their part or from a desire to stir up hatred against folk.
