Go Beyond New Years Resolutions

We need to go beyond resolutions because most New Years resolutions never succeed. (Have you noticed?) It's too bad they don't succeed because every resolution is made with the best of intentions: to either rid oneself of an unwanted negative or to gain a wanted positive. The reason most New Years resolutions don't succeed is that the effort for change is placed on the level of effect, where change is temporary at best. For any real change to occur, the change needs to take place at the level of cause.
Let's work together at the level of cause to make positive changes (changes will that last longer than most New Years resolutions) in all of our lives.
Begin by deciding if you would like the change you desire to come because you release something negative from your life or if you would like this change to come because you accept something positive in your life. Why not go big and choose one of each?
When you have chosen one or both ask yourself, "Why do I want this?" Is it because you feel releasing or gaining this one thing will give you the benefit you really desire? For example, do you want to quit smoking (the number two New Years resolution) because you believe quitting smoking will give you better health? If so, I suggest you change your request to having better health. Are you requesting a greater income (the number one New Years resolution) because you feel it will give you more happiness? If so, I suggest requesting greater happiness instead of the greater income. I make this suggestion because there are a great many people who have wished and strived for greater wealth because they thought it would make them happier only to find that more money didn't make them happier. It turns out that it is more happiness that makes you happier.
Once you have decided what your requests are, (and looking at the your past New Years resolutions is a good place to find your requests,) write all of them down on two pieces of paper, one for "Surrenders" and the other for "Miracles/Wishes."
Then take the "Surrenders" page with all of you personal surrenders and burn them (in something that it is safe to burn them) while saying the prayer:
"There is no gain at all to me in (state the thing you are surrendering). I recognize (state the thing you are surrendering) can only occur where my thoughts and beliefs create an environment for such a condition to occur. God, I ask you to heal my beliefs so I release this condition freely and easily, and it releases me. And so it is."
After a moment or two, take the "Miracles/Wishes" page with all your personal miracles and wishes and burn them (again, in something that it is safe to burn them) while saying the prayer:
"There is no gain at all to me in doing without (state the miracle/wish you are attracting). I recognize (state the miracle/wish you are attracting) can only occur where my thoughts and beliefs create an environment for such a condition to occur. God, I ask you to heal my beliefs so I create this condition freely and easily, and it is created for me. And so it is."
Now that you have completed the "Surrenders" and "Miracles/Wishes" and have asked Cause to heal your thoughts and beliefs in order to change some effects you deem negative and some effects you deem positive, there is one more thing (which has two components) that you must do: You must not take back that which you have given away.
The first component of "not taking it back" is:
Know the healing you requested is certain. It is impossible to bring fears to Truth and for the fears to remain. Be open to this certainty and be receptive to it in whatever form it may take. Love never forces so your continued receptivity is central to the completion of this exercise.
The second component of "not taking it back" is:
Surrender the results of this request for healing to Truth Itself. If you remain concerned about the results of the healing, you are, in fact, limiting the healing. By instead focusing on the certainty of the healing, you will remain in a mindset of gratitude and thanks, and allow the healing to speed its way to you. With that in mind, you only need to do this exercise once and the necessity for a repetition is undone. Do not redo the exercise, at least not for the same healing.
Thank you and blessings to all who have (and those who have not) participated.
