You have probably heard about the Briggs-Meyer test where you can find out your personality through a series to tests. This method is far superior to what I am going to show you but it will give you an idea of your personality type. This personality method is adapted from Power Marketing International. Below you will see a square with four quadrants. Each quadrant is labeled with Lion, Otter, Golden Retriever, or Beaver; this will be your primary personality type. The quadrants themselves are also divided into four; this represents your secondary personality type. In order to take this test you will need to make a judgment about what you would do in the two following situations.
On a scale of one to ten for neatness with one being the least, rate yourself:
You have the messiest office in the building, you can find anything you want but others think it is a total disaster. If anyone cleaned it up you would be totally lost. At home, you throw your clothes on the floor and everything is just hanging there in not particular order.
Everything is in its place in sorted order. Your file folders even have color codes. If you looked in any of your drawers, everything would be in perfect order. At home, you hand all your shirts or blouses in groups with longs sleeves and short sleeves separately and the colors are even put in order so that yellow is with yellow etc. Your shoes are always polished and you are dressed with perfection.
Place a mark on the line that goes horizontally (if you are a five place the mark at the center of the line)
On a scale of one to ten for pleasing with one being the least, rate yourself:
You want to get down to the golf course and will change your schedule so you can play that game. Work that you do not like doing gets hidden so it is out of your mind. If you promise to do something, it does not mean that you will do it now, it means you will do it when you get around to it. You love being with people and will always say yes to make them feel better.
Business comes first, if you promise to do something, it is done now. If you need to play golf, you schedule it outside your work time. You like to be the one that is right all the time and you like to call the shots. Some people call you a Type A personality.
Place a mark on the scale that goes up and down as to where you fit here.
You should now have two marks one on each line. Now take a ruler and draw a line through each point. As shown in the diagram. Where the lines intersect, that is your primary personality type. Your secondary personality type is where the intersection falls inside the small squares.
