CIBA Vision brings new hope to the people with vision problems. A worldwide leader in the manufacture of contact lenses, CIBA Vision has a whole gamut of contact lenses, from prescription to non-prescription contacts, from permanent to disposable contact lenses, including the lenses for cosmetic value only, such as for changing and enhancing your eye color.

Options Available From CIBA Vision

CIBA Vision is known to provide the maximum options in contact lenses, including their very popular O2OPTIX™ - the breathable lenses with high oxygen; NIGHT & DAY® - the high-oxygen extended wear lenses for 30 continuous nights; and Focus® DAILIES® - the daily disposables. All contact lenses from CIBA Vision are known for their comfort, performance and easy convenience.

A look at the options available from CIBA Vision:

O2OPTIXTM Breathable Lenses – Without sufficient oxygen, contact lens wearers would suffer from corneal oxygen deficiency – causing them end-of-day discomfort, irritation, and dryness of the eyes. O2OPTIXTM is a high oxygen, silicone hydrogel, contact lens that allows oxygen, as much as 5 times more than any other traditional soft contact lenses, to reach the eye. Once a choice for occasional overnight wear, these lenses have been approved by FDA for extended wear for up to six nights.

At present, its spherical power range covers - 1.00D to - 6.00D, in power increments of 0.25D, which is a standard increment in all contact lenses. In addition, at present, O2OPTIXTM contact lenses are not available in color versions, and neither are they available as toric lenses for astigmatism. These lenses, however, come with a light blue visibility/handling tint for easy spotting.

NIGHT & DAY® - These lenses provide you with a hassle free 30 nights and days of continuous wear. These are the first high oxygen, breathable contact lenses made from silicone hydrogel that have been approved by FDA for 30 nights and days of extended wear. They are known to supply as much as 6 times more oxygen than any other traditional soft contact lenses. These safe and convenient contact lenses allow you around-the-clock vision for 30 continuous days and nights, without the inconvenience of having to remove, clean, store, and wear them, on a daily basis.

NIGHT & DAY® contact lenses are very convenient for people whose lifestyle is unpredictable and who do not work to a fixed schedule. They are used for correcting vision of people suffering from myopia and hyperopia, as well as those who have astigmatism of up to 1.50 diopters approximately. These are available in power ranges of + 0.25D to + 6.00D in 0.25D increments, - 0.25D to - 8.00D in 0.25D increments, and - 8.50D to - 10.00D in 0.50D increments.

Focus® DAILIES® - These lenses are available as single use lenses, as toric lenses for astigmatism, and as bifocals for presbyopia. These lenses come with ‘AquaRelease’ – a moisturizing agent that is gradually released with every blink of your eye. These are very appropriate for those who are new to contact lenses, and those youngsters who actively participate in sports or other strenuous activities.

All Focus® DAILIES® come with a light blue visibility/handling tint for easy spotting.

FreshLook® Color Contact Lenses – These contact lenses are a great way to change, or enhance the natural color of your eyes. They come in vision correction and non-vision correction versions, for those suffering from astigmatism, and it does not matter whether you have light or dark eyes.

The FreshLook ColorBlends® contact lenses are for those who wish to completely change the color of their eyes. They are also available for those with astigmatism. The FreshLook Radiance™ does not change the color of your eyes but illuminates and adds sparkle to your eyes, with its pearlescent starburst pattern.

The FreshLook Dimensions™ lenses only enhance the natural color of your eyes, by adding depth and dimension. The color contact lenses are also available in the one day avatar – the FreshLook® ONE-DAY. These allow you the freedom of looking stunning in one color one day and equally stunning in another color the next day.

Contacts For Astigmatism – Those days have long gone when there were no soft lenses for astigmatism. Today, you have toric soft contact lenses, which have specifically been designed for correction of astigmatism. CIBA Vision offers a variety of contact lenses to correct astigmatism. They also offer specially made toric contacts for those who need a stronger prescription, or those with more specific correction needs.

There are Focus® DAILIES® Toric with AquaRelease™ contact lenses, the first in daily disposables for astigmatism. These hygienic lenses combine comfort with excellent visual acuity. The Focus® Toric contacts are designed for astigmatism, and require to be replaced every month. The FreshLook® Toric requires to be replaced every one to two weeks. It can be worn continuously for 6 days at a stretch, or as extended wear for two weeks.

The FreshLook ColorBlends® Toric impart a natural depth to your eyes and are available in blue, honey, green and gray colors. There are DuraSoft® 2 OptiFit® Toric, and DuraSoft® 3 OptiFit® Toric contact lenses, designed for daily wear, replaceable once a year. The DuraSoft® 2 OptiFit® Toric offers three choices – a visibility tint, four enhancing colors in any prescription for light eyes, or four opaque colors for dark eyes. The latter - DuraSoft® 3 OptiFit® Toric - is available in either visibility tint, or 15 different colors of your choice.

Bifocal Lenses – These lenses are an apt replacement for bifocal glasses, and feel natural and comfortable for those with presbyopia. The Focus® DAILIES® Progressives are daily disposables that provide a hassle free comfort to your eyes. You are free from the inconvenience of daily cleaning your contact lenses. The daily disposable contact lenses are hygienically safe as there is no risk of build-up of deposits.

The Focus® Progressives, and the CIBASOFT® Progressive Toric, are the other two options for presbyopia. The former corrects presbyopia without the need for bifocals, and the latter is apt for those with astigmatism and presbyopia.

CIBA Vision, by no means, have exhausted their options in contact lenses. They have a number of other Specialty and Prosthetic Lenses in their stable.
