One of the more popular online money making programs these days is the one run by the man who calls himself “The Rich Jerk”. His antics and writing style have caught on like wildfire, and things Rich Jerk related have popped up all over the internet.

In one month the Rich Jerk e-book topped the Clickbank bestseller list, and has remained popular ever since. By performing a search on the internet, you will find a whole segment of internet marketers offering everything Rich Jerk related. Popular items are Rich Jerk website templates, and hosting accounts specifically designed around the information found in the book.

Ok, enough with the boring background stuff, on to the product review.

Here are some of the highlights:

• How to make affiliate websites that sell like crazy

The first section details how to make affiliate websites that sell like crazy, and was fairly informative. The Rich Jerk walks you through the process of writing effective sales copy, including tips on how to appeal to people’s emotions to cause them to act quickly – and buy your product. One very important technique, which you will see utilized time and again through most of the e-books of this type, is to establish yourself as an authority on a subject.

I can give you the scoop on how to do that right now. It’s really pretty simple. Even if you don’t know everything in the world about the product, or market you are trying to sell it in, act as if you do. Don’t be over the top, rude, or pushy (unless you’re the Rich Jerk) – but establish the fact that you know what you are talking about and that if people want to get what you have then they need to do what you do. This is a great technique for selling online, and the Rich Jerk goes into much greater depth and detail explaining it than I will right now.

One thing to remember if you’re considering buying any Rich Jerk product is this – he is in this game for one thing and one thing only, and that thing is money. The only good part about that for the potential buyer of his product is that you can learn all of his secrets and strategies for generating a lot of money online, in a fairly short amount of time.

And if you believe the information on the net about the writer of Rich Jerk, he has earned somewhere in the neighborhood of $12 Million dollars in the last six years through his online business, so there is some decent money out there to be made if you know how to do it.

The section on pay per click strategies section was informative, even for me, and I consider myself to be somewhat knowledgeable when it comes to pay per click. In my opinion the best part about this section are the ideas for writing a completely different type of ad than 99% of the rest of the ads you see out there right now. This is what can make your pay per click campaign really pay off – because you can get many more clicks in a shorter amount of time and still be bidding less than everyone else for your ads.

As far as utilizing the smaller pay per click search engines, generally referred to as second tier search engines, I would personally recommend staying away from them. I’ve tried many second tier models in the past, but I have had absolutely no luck whatsoever with the smaller engines. I can generate a ton of clicks for a much cheaper price on the smaller engines, but I have never had one – not even one – person convert from a click to anything else other than that while using the smaller engines. That includes campaigns where I was offering free products!

Having said all that, I will also say that I have read on many of the forums that the product one is offering on their site will have a lot to do with what kind of results you get. In other words, just because you get a good conversion rate on Google doesn’t mean you will get a good rate on Search123, and vice versa. So some people manage to get good results with the smaller engines, but I never have. The Rich Jerk lists some of the smaller ones as good alternatives in his book. If you have the time and a few extra dollars to spare, try them out. Maybe you will get lucky. I wouldn’t buy more than $50 dollars worth of clicks at .10 per click from the smaller engines unless I was getting conversions though.

The Rich Jerk also includes an excellent list of high paying keywords if you are looking to get into, or expand Google Adsense.

One problem that I noticed throughout the entire book is this: all the links in the book (I.E. all the products the Rich Jerk recommends), are in some way affiliated with the Rich Jerk. In other words, if the author recommends, for instance, website hosting, then the recommended hosting company will be affiliated with the Rich Jerk. I know this is how things work – why would someone fill up an entire ebook with someone else’s links when those links could be generating even more profit for the author – but it still seems somewhat underhanded for some reason.

Of course, as I said earlier, The Rich Jerk is in this business for one reason and one reason only – to make the most money possible. That includes making extra money off of people who have already purchased the book. Once again, this can be advantageous to the internet marketer trying to learn all facets of how to make money online, but it also allows you to see a little into the mind of The Rich Jerk to see what it is that truly motivates..

Recommendation – It this ebook a GO, or a NO GO

My final thoughts on this book are somewhat towards the no go. While I will say that it is filled up with some pretty interesting and useful information, I just can’t completely buy into the hype and marketing tactics that are used to promote the book and the products within it. The other problem I have with this product is what I mentioned before – all the recommended products and links are positioned to make more money for The Rich Jerk.

I don’t have an ethical problem with this, I just feel as though with all the products and all the information available out there, there are most likely some alternate products that perform as well as, or better than, the products that The Rich Jerk recommends. I think that this attitude is one that dominates the book, and it’s not something I necessarily agree with – the business model is what I don’t like. The content of the book itself is what I think is actually very good.

So the first bottom line goes like this. If you are looking for ways to make money online, and you want to make it quickly by any means possible, then this book might be what you are looking for. This is not any type of get rich quick scheme, and by saying you can make quick money I mean that you can make relatively quick money. Nothing worth doing is easy, and that’s a fact. The techniques in this book will take some time and practice, but by following the advice in this book to the letter I think one could have a serious opportunity to start making some really decent money online.

So the second bottom line is, this program has been around for a little while now – there’s a reason for that. If you look at any of the search engines you will see that people are still advertising this product left and right, and they wouldn’t be doing that if it wasn’t making them money. I guess my final opinion is as follows: if you are looking to make some money online, and you need some solid ideas and good advice on what to do and how to do it, then you should probably add this book onto your list of educational products to consider.
