Arkansas is one of the southern United States' hidden treasures. Full of history, as well as beauty and tranquility, this state offers lovers a wonderful spot for their next weekend trip. If you enjoy the peaceful beauty of a forest, the gentle rush of a stream or burble of a creek, Arkansas offers all of these experiences and more. The city of Little Rock has much to see and do with a great nightlife, and the area around the state's capital holds many inns and bed and breakfasts to enjoy.

Romantic destinations in Arkansas are extraordinarily easy to find, if you know where to look. One such place is found right within the city limits of Little Rock, at the Empress of Little Rock hotel. This luxury establishment is rated Four Diamonds by the AAA (American Automobile Association), which designates it as a very posh hotel, indeed. Built in the 1880's, the Empress strives to offer its guests a trip back in time, by treating them to featherbeds, antiques in all the rooms, and candlelight breakfasts. This resort is also available for small, intimate weddings, if your romantic destination leans towards this sort of celebration.

There are other spots available throughout the state that offer romance, and not all of them are located in city atmospheres. Hot Springs, Arkansas, also offers many different resorts and inns that are perfect for your next romantic destinations in Arkansas. Along with these intimate places to stay, you also get the benefit of having the attractions of the town to amuse you during the day. The Heated Springs that named the town are available for spa luxury and other treatments, and there are also spots surrounding Hot Springs that are perfect for day trips. The mountains in the area are filled with hiking trails, making for a great outdoor activity.

The 1890 Williams House Bed and Breakfast, located in the Hot Springs National Park, is a converted mansion and carriage house that has five guest rooms in the main house and two in the carriage house. The Carriage House rooms are particularly sought after for romance, as they are more secluded – as well as being filled with beautiful antiques and sharing the same amenities such as gourmet breakfasts, air conditioning, and other convenience appliances.
