Bug Shields are a common must-have in todays automotive world. The protection they give on the leading edge of the hood from road debris, bug residues, and stone and rock chips save the car from the pains it gets from these road particles. Many may have installed in in their cars in the hope of giving more style into the car but neglecting the fact that these things do give protection.

As history would show it, these bug shield have undergone various enhancements and upgrades just so it could serve its purpose well in keeping road particles away from the driver's precious wheels. And because of that, many companies have dedicated themselves on its improvement. They usually make it with premium-grade acrylic with stamped-in aero-styling. This setup for bug shields could give only the best protection without having to distract the aerodynamics of the car.

Though there are companies making bug shields, automakers cant help but still put it in their hands the role of producing their own Bug Shields. This is because certain specifications are needed to be met so that bug shields can give their full potential in function. Among the car companies making its own bug shields is Jeep, one of the makes of DaimlerChrysler.

With their heavy duty purpose as an off-road vehicle, it really calls for a proper bug shield to be installed. Jeep Bug Shields are constructed with almost-indestructible polycarbonate. Since it is attached at the end of the hood, like other bug shield makes are, it prevents bugs, stone chips, and other road particles from hitting the windshield. Because of that function, Jeep Bug Shields also protect the hood from deadly scratches that may be brought by stone chips and the like. Aside from that, Jeep Bug Shields also act as air deflector by preventing air from directly hitting the windshield. What happens is that air flows over the roof, and that is why it also improves the aerodynamics of the car.

So Jeep Bug Shields don't only add a rugged look to the truck, but mainly protects the hood from unwanted scratches, and with this, improving the aerodynamics as well.
