Maybe you've spotted the billboards around. A few auto dealerships, trying to pull in clients any way they can, have popped up ads that talk about being patriots, pushing them to "Buy US-Made vehicles" and not let the American auto market crash. You can see this same phenomenon in other countries as well.

But bear in mind this one important fact: It's not patriotic to buy a bad car. Here are some essential reasons why.

There are no Giant Companies that are Strictly "American"

Most car companies are not really purely 'US' companies anymore. They bring in much of their material from tons of different nations, depend on China and spots where doing business is more economical to keep their costs low, and haven't been strictly US-only for a long time.

Since thousands of Japanese cars are also put together by Americans on American soil, buying a Japanese car also helps American industry. It's solely the company top dogs who are still 'American' (with numerous exceptions)--and do you really need to give a gift to the CEOs that allowed the US auto industry to fall into today's mess?

There Are Better Ways to Support Workers in Trouble

Maintaining American dealers that haven't been constructing great automobiles for a long time isn't going to do much for your patriotic duty.

Why not work on your own income? Saving and using money can only be taken advtanage of when you do right by yourself, first of all, not just because a failing industry has asked you to.

An Example to Explain All

Here are two choices: one is a pre-owned Japanese car, brought over directly from the market in Japan, and sold to a proud American buyer.

The second choice is a US vehicle, its price brought way down by one of the big three in order to sell it quickly, all while the company goes bankrupt and gets a huge bailout.

So what's the option? Choosing the Japanese auto might mean you'll still have some money to put towards other things. It means you will have been smart in making a choice that's ideal for where you are, not just helping out a struggling, inefficient company.

Everyone Else Does It, Why Shouldn't You Buy From  A Foreign Market

Containing some of the world's best drivers and most meticulous standards of upkeep, the auto market in Japan is one of the best you'll find. Use the economic crisis as an opportunity to seek out new ways of buying.

Also, the Japanese usually buy new cars much quicker than everywhere else. The government forces a very difficult load of safety checks on older cars, which makes owning a used car in Japan much more costly than driving a pre-owned vehicle in America. Take full advantage of the difference in policies.

As the Japanese sell off their used vehicles, top exporters pick up the cars and organize their sale to foreign markets, including North America.

If you're searching for a freshly manufactured or used car--it doesn't matter where you're living--use the huge global span of the internet, tap into sources you didn't have any knowledge of before now, and find the top vehicle for your cash.
