There is no question that in the ice age before the invention of television the Republicans would have at least held onto the Senate because George Allen would have just lied and said that he never called the reporter a macaca, that the macaca was making it up, and the KKK would probably have lynched the macaca before he ever got to tell anyone that George Allen had called him a macaca.
