    Rating:

After only a few games of having Steve McLaren as our national football teams manager, I am already looking for him to be replaced. Football is a dangerous sport. Players endure bruising contact, long practices in hot weather and all sorts of unusual stresses and strains on their muscles, ligaments and tendons. • Best Places In Miami Gardens

    Rating:

So you’ve just been to a Dolphins’ game. This means you’re in Miami Gardens and you probably need a drink (with how this season is shaping up, you’ll definitely need a drink), and maybe a bite to eat. Miami Gardens doesn’t offer quite the same bustling nightlife as the rest of Miami.Read more…
  • How to Be a Fan of a Losing Team

    Rating:

There comes a time in every fan’s life when they realize that their team isn’t doing so well. If you’re a Dolphins’ fan, for example, you’ll find your team with the worst record in football at the end of week 7 (at an amazing 1-6). This kind of situation naturally poses a bit of a conundrum to any fan.Read more…
  • Dallas Cowboys

    Rating:

The Dallas Cowboys have often been referred to as "America's Team" and it's pretty easy to see why. They clearly have the most number of fans among all NFL teams, thanks to their storied history and their phalanx of great players. The Cowboys, who currently play in the suburb of Irving in Dallas, Texas, have the most Super Bowl appearances with eight.Read more…
  • Scarlet Knights Escape Disaster

    Rating:

The magical season for the vaunted Rutgers Scarlet Knights football team almost took an awful turn Sunday night, due to the persistence of the Connecticut Huskies, a troop that wasn’t supposed to give Rutgers all that much trouble. After a harrowing third quarter, the Knights managed to hold UConn off thanks to the fine efforts of their defense and specials teams, 24 to 13.You could almost feel it coming especially after Rutgers handled Pitt on the road and with a show down game against Louisville looming: the Connecticut contest was shaping up as one of those awful trap games, one that could have sent R.Read more…
  • Once Beleagured Rutgers Stands Tall

    Rating:

Although I graduated from a different New Jersey school — Ramapo College of NJ — I have always followed the football “exploits” of New Jersey’s state university, Rutgers. Let’s just say that upon my graduation from high school in 1976, the Scarlet Knights only gave me one season to be proud of before last year: the season Rutgers went 11-0 and finished 17th nationally. Unfortunately, that was also way back in 1976!Read more…

  • NFL Players Equipped - Why Helmet Phones?

    Rating:

In order to help players the League may soon allow visiting teams the benefit of a helmet-to-helmet wireless communication system. In most big ballgames, noise is good, and more noise is better. Cheerleaders, mascots and noisemakers like inflatable bat-shaped balloons are there to create a cacophony meant to raise the home team's spirits and deflate the visiting team.Read more…

  • Heisman Trophy Top-10 (Monday, October 30)

    Rating:

USC's shocking loss at Oregon State has shaken up the polls and most importantly, the BCS standings. While it's obvious the winner of the Michigan/Ohio State game will be one of this year's national championship game participants (assuming of course, that both remain unbeaten until November 18), the field is now wide-open as to the game's other entry. The Heisman race however, hardly features a wide-open field.Read more…
  • Ferringo College Football Report: Miami, FSU not Only Florida Teams in Trouble

    Rating:

Well, I had my College Game of the Month going this weekend and was treated to three-plus hours of frustration, angst and general feelings of dread. I took Missouri laying just a couple of points at home against a ho-hum Oklahoma team. The Tigers proceeded to lay a fantastic egg, losing 26-10 in front of 60,000 disappointed fans.Read more…
  • Ugly NFL Teams

    Rating:

The public has more influence on NFL lines than any other sport and it has always been important to take a contrarian approach when handicapping the NFL, but I have noticed that the 'due theory' hasn't worked as well the past few years as some teams remain overrated, while others remain underrated and the betting public and oddsmakers fail to adjust. Below is a look at some of the worst teams in the NFL and which ones are on the rise and which ones you should continue to avoid. The Arizona Cardinals were the most overrated team heading into this season as they were hyped due to the acquisition of Edgerrin James, but Arizona still has a weak offensive line and one of the worst rushing attacks in the league.Read more…
  • Buy, Watch or Pass - Week 7

    Rating:

QB’sJoey Harrington, Miami Dolphins – 414 pass yds, 2 TD’s, 3 INT’sDaunte Culpepper was supposed to make Miami a Super Bowl contender, but he hasn’t lived up to the player he once was and eventually got hurt again. In his place while he recovers is once promising Joey Harrington. The 414 passing yards from Sunday sure looks impressive, but that came from 62 pass attempts.Read more…
  • Heisman Trophy – College Football’s Player of the Year Award – Week Eight

    Rating:

The pack of legitimate Heisman candidates continues to shrink. With this week’s games in the books, it is time to take a look back at the performances of the players competing for this year’s college player of the year award. Still in the hunt for this prize are Ohio State’s Troy Smith, Notre Dame’s Brady Quinn, West Virginia’s Steve Slaton, Rutger’s Ray Rice, Michigan’s Michael Hart, and Tennessee’s Eric Ainge.Read more…
  • Can Manchester United Win The Premiership This Season?

    Rating:

I have just watched another afternoon of top class premiership football. I have to say that I love to not only watch but also play to football and have done so since a very early age. I support a team which was actually relegated from the English premiership last season in Birmingham City but am wondering tonight whether Man United can win the title this season ahead of Chelsea and Arsenal.Read more…
  • Bummer in the Bayou

    Rating:

I felt the Eagles-Saints matchup last week was more of a "trap" game then a "letdown" game. After defeating the Dallas Cowboys in a game that grabbed Super Bowl-like attention the Birds would have to be on their game 2 weeks in a row as they faced a new and definitely improved New Orleans Saints team. The Saints are leading the NFC South, and for good reason, they have a legitimate NFL quarterback in Drew Brees, Reggie Bush and Deuce McCallister provide outside the tackle speed as well as power up the middle in the running game.Read more…

  • The 7 Laws of Football Quarterbacking - By: Kanwar Narendra Singh Jodha
In all of my research, over a period of several years, the finest information I have ever read on quarterback leadership came from my friend Frank Carideo. The purpose of this information was to outline the process by which a quarterback was trained at Notre Dame, under Coach Knute Rockne. This course of quarterbacking was as exacting in many respects as any collegiate course. Coach Rockne had seven cardinal principles of quarterbacking that were preached over and over again.
  • Winning at NFL Football - By: Joe Pav
There is an old misconception among fans that a great defense is needed to win at NFL football. The problem with that philosophy is that your highly talented defensive teams would be worn out due to being on the field too long. Also, a few key injuries to a few skilled players can mean the difference between last and first.

  • Football Scouting Software - By: Todd Krueger
Football is all about timing. Not just the timing that is required between the offensive line and the running back, or between the safeties and linebackers on a blitz play, but also the timing of the coach to choose the right plays at the right time. The difference between success and failure rides upon play selection more than any other factor.
  • Football Defense, Gap 8 - By: Todd Krueger
Gap 8 DefenseThe Gap-8 and 10-1 names are really misnomers. My defense is, at times a Gap-8, a 10-1, and sometimes even a 9-1-1 or a 7-3-1. It depends on the offensive formation. The name gap-8 is from the old days when the offense was almost always in a full house T-formation with two tight ends and the defense was truly in a gap-8.
