A visit to Miami’s South Beach area is to step into a carefree world where mornings are spent at the beach, afternoons are set aside for shopping and nights are full of wild parties where anything goes! As one can imagine, finding accommodation in such a popular destination can be somewhat difficult especially for those on tight holiday budgets. However, there are some exceptions such as the San Juan Hotel.

The hotel is ideally situated right across from the beach which means that one can enjoy a whole day of lazing in the sand while working on that perfect holiday tan. A favourite amongst budget travellers, Hotel San Juan is also within easy reach of such well known South Beach landmarks as Ocean Drive, Lincoln Road, the Miami Beach Convention Centre and the Delano Hotel.

Guests of the San Juan Hotel Miami wanting to get a feel of what the area’s beach culture is really like should head to the Lummus Park & Beach. Attracting an eclectic crowd that range from rollerblading happy-go-lucky teens to cheery senior citizens, this area is also a great spot in which to indulge in the much loved South Beach pastime of people watching!

South Beach or SoBe as the locals call it is also known for its Art Deco buildings. These fascinating structures can be found in the Art Deco District and at such places as Ocean Drive which is only about 2 blocks away from Hotel San Juan. Ocean Drive is also home to the Art Deco Welcome Centre which gives one a chance to learn more about this style of architecture and even sign up for tours

When the summer sun gets too hot to handle, one can head to the Lincoln Road pedestrian mall which is a perfect spot for an afternoon of lazy shopping! Located around 1 block from Hotel San Juan Miami, Lincoln Road is also lined with open air cafes where shoppers can just sit back and watch the world go slowly by. Those wanting to dress the part of a South Beach fashionista can do their shopping along Collins Avenue where such designer brands as Armani, Versace, Guess?, Benetton and Ralph Lauren can be found.

Those who prefer more culturally rich pursuits can visit the Holocaust Memorial or take in a musical or theatrical production at such venues as the Lincoln Theatre and the Colony Theatre. Art lovers can visit the Bass Museum of Art and the South Florida Art Centre, while kids will love a trip to the Parrot Jungle & Gardens and the Miami Children's Museum.

As the day draws to a close, evening’s descent into darkness heralds the SoBe nightlife which is a hedonistic playground full of fun, frolic and fashion! Due to the hotel’s location along Collins Avenue, it is a great starting point for ones nightly adventures and clubs in and around the area include Score, Opium Garden, Skybar and the Mynt Lounge. The Nikki Beach Club, B.E.D and the immensely popular Mansion nightclub are among the other South Beach nightlife hotspots worth visiting.

Guests staying at the San Juan Hotel Miami can make use of its freshwater swimming pool as well as wireless Internet access (additional cost) which is great if one needs to email back home. Even though the hotel does not have dining options, its central location means that there is a wide range of restaurants close by. While there is no onsite parking, those arriving by car have access to a valet parking service (additional cost).

The rooms at the hotel make for simple living spaces where one can sit back and relax before a night of partying. Equipped with two double beds or a queen size bed, these basic rooms also have cable television and refrigerators. Units with kitchenettes or microwaves are available on request.

Set amidst the hustle and bustle of South Beach, the San Juan Hotel Miami gives visitors a chance to be a part of the area’s colourful chaos and experience what life is like in a place where the sun, sand and surf are ones only care!
